Exactly what I was alluding to on the Rossi mind games thread

Are you trying to imply that Rossi is like Maladin?? I can see where in one aspect they are similar with trying to get into the mind of the competition but Rossi has it x1000. He has all his fanatic fans to do the dirty work for him. I don't think Ben has ever been boo'ed by 100k people for doing nothing but win a race. That can .... with a mans head.

I think Rossi actually likes the other riders, up to the point. Mladin is just a miserable prick who doesnt seem to like anyone, unless its someone away from racing.I do appreciate Matts honesty though. You dont have to read between the lines to know where he is coming from.

Agree with every word of that. Whereas I quite often detect an element of insincerity about Vale.

IMO it won't work on spies, certainly not yet, the amount and relative sting in the mind games for Ben will definately depend on his on track performance

probably a storm in a tea cup this, he might have just said 'did you see the .... on that out in the corridor!' or 'Casey looks a bit like Biaggi now-no??!!'

Like I said, if he is a challenger to Rossi the mob will be out to get him. When he is boo'ed, ridiculed, mocked, jeered, etc everyday when he comes to work it will take a certain individual to close that out if ever. For the most part the boppers have been good sports about Spies, even offering him slight praise for his abilities. He is not a threat yet. Will this change if he is ever able to challenge the GOAT. It's going to be interesting, Ben hasn't even anticipated the Rossi mindless as being his greatest challenge.

Agreed...Rossi seems quite the bit insincere...

Ben won't be booed, many have beaten rossi over the years and haven't been booed.

Spies is ice cool and very likeable which has and will continue to gain him fans. The riders on the end of this kind of treatment are usually a bit prickley in personality and have said or done something (other than beating rossi) to encourage the bad reception.

Ben is too smart and won't add fuel to the fire.....

I was the one who would boo Stoner for beating Rossi, In MotoGp, I was Rossi's greatest fan and in the famous 2004 incident with Gibernau in Jerez , when Gibernau drove into Rossi (and Gibernau and the media and all other blind geeks claimed it was Rossi who drove into Sete) I felt like I was the lonely voice on Rossi side. I think even Rossi himself thought he was to blame. What Rossi was to me in MotoGp Ben Spies (since about 2005), was in AMA SBK. As soon as Spies came to MotoGp he was Numero uno to me and Rossi dropped to second. But after that article, if Rossi really did it only to annoy Spies, I no longer even respect Rossi. Vale has a huge follwing (also) in the US, but picking on Ben for no good reason was stupid. Unless he did it BECAUSE HE IS AFFRAID OF SPIES. So what do we end up with? A scared Rossi and pissed off Ben. Well , in that case Benny my boy, you did it to one prick in AMA , go make me happy and do it to another one in MotoGp.

I'm not going to throw lawn darts until seeing the video, but if the scene went down as described, I'd see Rossi as being a rude, disrespectful ..... Grazziano needed to leap on the stage, slap VR on the face, and lecture him on basic courtesy.

I don't think Spies will really be affected stuff like this yet, because realistically Rossi isn't on his radar yet. In time perhaps Spies will feel like direct competition to Vale at which point he will notice and maybe object to the 'competitor treatment' that Rossi gives.

Rossi is the new Biaggi

He's in the same position that Biaggi was, when Rossi and Biaggi had their stairwell cat fight.
