Just a thought of what may happen but i do not think rossi would get insurance, shame though !

I don't know a whole lot about the race or the course itself but I don't think Rossi would do it even if he had the insurance. He has been an advocate for safer racing facilities for quite some time now.

with time i feel he could b competative but i hope hes never in the tt also i did read in a magazine a few years ago he watches as much as possible,

hmmmmmmm, going from track to road I imagine would be a lot harder than road to track.

As mentioned, Rossi the safey guru wouldnt even touch the TT........no way would he race there, I doubt he would be competitive personally.

I remember reading an article in mcn a few weeks ago about an Irish road racer, cant remember his name, it was interesting to read..........especially the fact that the guy hadnt passed his bike test & didnt ride a normal road bike because he considered day to day biking dangerous!!

remember.........TT is on for an hour on Sunday before the gp.

I have thought about this before, but youve got to realise its completetly different to Gp's. Rossi must have no fear of crashing on the circuits he rides on because thety are all so safe and have so much run off. In GP's if you arrive at a new circuit you could go round a particular corner faster and faster until you find the limit for that corner and crash, safely. You just cant do that with the TT, obviously.

I think he would be good at the control of the bike and the mindset of constant high speeds, but i think that would be it. If he did do the TT, i think he would have to push a lot of the stuff hes learned on the track, out of his mind. He, and any other short circuit rider for that matter, would have to get into the mindset of finding a fast safe line through corners and not try and 'max out' every corner.

Anyway, even if Rossi did come to the TT, who's to say he would have the balls?
He may have outright talent but hes practiced and honed that talent on safe, short circuits.

I think we have an echo!

Should be fixed now.........sorry.

Rossi 46 and Ron you guys are exactly right. GPs and TTs are vastly different. Obviously you guys know more about the TTs than I do seeing as how we don't have any here in the states. But it seems to me that they are completely different. Ron you brought up a great point in that there is more a concern for safety in a TT and a GP mentality requires more fearlessness. If there is a rider who can race GPs and TTs competitively they are truly a great rider.

Barry Sheene spring's to mind, but even our Barry was not a fan of the TT, but at the time the factory team he rode for[Suzuki] where competing on the Island so he had no choice.

Foggy was not a big fan either even though he competed ..

Eveb he admitted to being st scared after a period of time.
