As they were before that. Don't even try that again. I listed up the complete season up to Brno or close to that and with one exception, Laguna Seca i think, where he lost a complete session (engine failure?) he never did any long runs and his total number of laps where well under average. I watch most FP's live, either through timing sheet of both timing sheet and live feed. And every time Stoner is the last out and first in. That's simply the way it has been this season, so you just dispute as much as you want, it's of little relevance, besides, your credibility isn't exactly on top these days. Was it 4th og 5th rossi "the has been" should end up at this season?

Rossi IS the ‘Last of that Bread’, he loves a ‘Great Battle’ and set it clear as no other Rider does this days… Applies it on the Bike, confirms it in interviews off the Bike. Because all other Riders mainly do not want a Battle or even like it what so ever. This makes another reason why ‘The Show’ is going down the drain!

Rossi doesn't chose to scrap with riders like he used to, at all. If he is quicker, he goes. That is the way to win now. Sure he likes a battle, but so do a few other riders and many have been in more battles than Rossi this year.

The best bike for winning the races is the best bike in the race. Yamaha.

Laguna Seca comes to mind and he loved it! One of the Greatest Battles in his life, as he confirmed it, maybe not so many scarps as Rossi would like to, but things have changed because of Organizers decisions. Nope Tom, I think Rossi ‘IS’ the last of that bread.

Things have changed for worst, starts getting boring alike F1.

Whilst rossi no doubt enjoyed the scrap at laguna immensely, I don't think he was holding back just to stay in it as was perhaps his wont at times in the past. The prevailing view seems to be that stoner/ducati was potentially the faster package on the day, and that rossi's performance was particularly remarkable because he still managed to thwart stoner despite this. He did of course manage to get past stoner in the first place.

I agree with tom overall that rossi in the 800cc era will take off if he has the option, modern tyres, tc and the calibre of opposition or at least stoner's and pedrosa's propensity to disappear into the distance if they get to the lead precluding some of his former tactics.

Although Rossi battled in the USA and loved it, lets not forget that many other riders have battled for positions more often than Rossi. My point is that Had Rossi been quick enough to go, he would have. Hanging around and opting to settle races in a scrap is no longer a favoured tactic by any rider

Rossi destroyed Sete mentally a long time ago, he wont see him as a threat.

I am surprised Spies didn't land a ride for 2009 in Motogp. Vermuelen had a poor year where he was consistantly beaten by Loris, and he still kept the ride? Nicky will have good results and he will get the 09 Ducati sorted out. Will he finish in the top 5? Rossi Stoner and Pedrosa are locks, Lorenzo with a unified Yamaha garage will be strong, and Dovizioso on top notch equipment for once will provide a real challenge. Hopkins looks real stupid for moving to Kawasaki, as the Suzuki package is a proven competitive package. Colin had a strong year, I believe he can't achieve much greater at this point in his career. Toseland was a little disappointing to me, as even a tracks like Donington and The Island he didn't go so well! Can't wait for 09 either.
