Elias is ok but he aint great. I think Vale is the man bar none but those two in the same post you have got to be kidding. We all know it is going to be much of the same next year with the same 4 or 5 guys going for the win. I think a better choice would be Hayden instead of Toni friggin Elias.

Very stupid list! How the hell are you gonna put Eli Manning, in front of Phelps? As a matter of fact, Eli Manning doesn't even deserve to be in a top 50 of such a list. Only reason Giants won was because of a miracle catch (does anyboyd even remember this guy's name?) NOT a miracle throw.

Also, whats with putting Nada on this list? Just because he beat the greatest tennis player Federer who is playing near the tail end of his career or perhaps a bad year?

I suspect this list was posted here simply because it included Rossi, but how did this list get created? Did people vote or is this just some list from some .....?

Here is my top 3 for 08:

1. Phelps
2. Bolt
3. Dara Torres

(I know they all come from the Olympics, this is because I rate this competition a much truer and pure event of who is really the best among the best field of participants. NOT who came to play with the best equipment, team, politics, etc.)

Just a thought, but why isn't Lewis Hamilton on that list? Isn't his runner up in rookie year then title in his second pretty significant?

Again, how the hell did Eli Manning get on this list? He did little to nothing to get his team in the supperbowl, then won the thing on a miracle catch. The opposing team's quarterback had accomplished significantly more during the season. So is this list a one time event performance? Even if that were the case Eli Mannings one time performance was ...... too, since they were very much losing up until that last minute hail marry to a guy who caught it among defenders and happened to get a split second possession of the ball. Why isn't that receiver on the list?

Toni Elias is an OK rider. He only looks fast cuz of his riding style, sliding the rear end all over the place....but that doesn't necessarily equate to fast lap times, just take Hayden for example.
