I dont know if this is old news but Michelin will not release Rossi to test Bridgestones until his contract expires at the end of November which is right when the winter test ban starts which means Rossi no testy tires till middle of January. It sounds as if the switch has been made and they are not even going to bother with an announcement and rekindle the firestorm.

Well that makes the whole move seem even more risky!!

Makes me wonder if my "voodoo" thought that they have tested them then was possible!! ..... I'd guess Assen was it then ...... Rossi came back with a force in that one it looked a different ride to the rest of the year to me ....

Fair enough. So I assume he will still be testing the 08 bike on Michelins till the end of the year. Interesting off season for Yamaha and Rossi.

There you go, I honestly didn't think that there was anything preventing Rossi from testing Bridgestones on Monday, I didn't think it had any implications on any rider that may be changing tyres, not by the way people were talking when there were rumours of a single tyre rule. He's made his bed.......

thats just spiteful on michilins part, rossi has given them 5 wc's, they have cost him 2 wc's or at least played a part in that and now they twist the knife. i wont be buying michilin tyres in future !

Its funny you should say that because it has been said on this board and others that people dont give a .... about tires, its about the rider and machines and what happens in Gp would not alter consumers buying habits.I can honestly say i have run Michelins Sports and then the Powers for quite a while but ran the Bridgestone 012ss for a while and liked them and are now running the new 002 and really like them.I guess even with tires, its win on Sunday, sale on Monday.

to be honest mate,i wont buy anything french, not since they did atomic testing in atol.
but i think holding rossi to a contract after the season has ended is petty and spiteful, just my personal opinion.

Look at the positive side, roger. If all of this is true, it means michelin are seriously worried about what he might do next year on bridgestones and he has made the right decision.

Also seems crazy if dunlop are going out of motogp; they certainly seem to be making good qualifiers at least in the second half of the season.

Michelin would have won those world championships without Rossi. They know how good the guy is and how good the Stone's are. Rossi has effectively become the competition, why would afford him any sort of advantage?

This is why they call it a 'tyre war'

The article i read this in also stated that Honda did the same thing to Rossi when he switched to Yamaha and it seemed to motivate him.Kinda like ill show you.Who knows getting him pissed might be a good thing.

When Rossi wins in Qatar next year will give you an excuse to leave this forum

Took them a while to retort ...

Theres more problems.

In its struggle to win back the MotoGP world championship, Yamaha will NOT build a V4 engine, will NOT adopt pneumatic valve gear, and will NOT copy Ducati's desmosdromic valve operation.

Why is the Yamaha still lagging? "We are struggling to maintain horsepower and fuel efficiency," Furusawa admitted. "We always try to make a good engine, but the result isn't always the same as our plans."

Lord have mercy! When I read this post I laughted at least 5 minutes, perhaps a minute for each WC that "Rossi <u>gave</u>" Michelin.
<

Well I could easily make a compelling case that <u>Michelin</u> "gave Rossi" five championships! Anybody want to take me up on this debate??? It would be easy. Lets see, lets start counting the championships that Michelin has won before Rossi. Lets see, here is the short list. Perhaps you may recognize some of these names: since 1992: Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwantz, Mick Doohan, Alex Criville, Kenny Roberts. And as punctuation mark, after Rossi we had Nicky Hayden! And you also said Michelin "cost him" a WC, well guess what, that was Hayden, who was on those ...... and evil Michelins. Can somebody with some better math skills than me add up the championships? How about the championships of non-Michelin titles?

If anything, Rossi should be extremely and overwhelmingly grateful to Michelin who supported and carried him to the fame and fortune he now enjoys, yes Michelin (that French company that has now become the <u>evil empire</u> in the eyes of some Rossi fans). If Rossi is ungrateful, he is the spiteful one, certainly not Michelin.

Haha Rog. I just had to get you on this one buddy. Hey man, that shinny object you are mistaking for the "twist of the knife" is really the shinny silver spoon that Michelin is taking out of Rossi's mouth.
<
(sits back an enjoys the clever wittiness).

So you are not going to buy Michelins ever again? Wow, one thing I give you is you are a diehard Rossi fan buddy.

ive noticed all the threads that went stale a while ago keep poppin back up with your name on them lol, i can see your trying to stir the spoon again so arguments here never stop thats poor form....

lol

Well, if Roger was overdoing it a little at least you had no problems matching him there.

Take a look down the list at those championships. I'm too tired to check now but are there anyone on anything else but Michelin among the top 5 over those championships?
Michelin were effectivly the regulation tire at that time and during most of the time of the other championships you mention (for some unknown reason)

Look like you're loosing the grip Junkie, this is not up to standards.

You may need some rest buddy. Because I think you missed the not-so-subtle wit in my post to fellow Rossi fan Roger.

Take a nap, and came back well rested, we have work to do here on this forum.
