Not just any chain, one off a hillclimber.

I'd rather see the guy graffiti my fence than touch a Ducati.

I have to agree. In fact I am somewhat a fan of Roland Sands and I think he does some pretty cool .... with otherwise pretty mundane looking bikes. Its cool seeing him work on a Duc, and I can say that as I am an owner of my own and absolutely love them. When the hypermotard first came out I was somewhat dissapointed by the seat and back frame because it was to wide in the back, not the slimness you would expect in a motard.

Why do people put on those stupid long swing arms. The do give better take off and straight line handling, but this bike is not about take off or straight line agility. It is about trail riding, street riding, and anything between. Pipe is cool, but it is hurt in looks by the larger tires.

i think its a bit of an optical illusion. its not so much that the swing arm is long, it's that the seat unit is short.
i would be interested to no if he altered the geometry like wheel base from the original bike.

The hypermotard s is the best looking bike I have ever seen and should not be messed with. Have you actually seen a live one?

I almost went straight home to put my CBR on sale...
<

I'll have one next year.

I DON"T like Sands' version...he basically removed all the fun and function about this bike... "Chopper" crap should be reserved for Choppers....leave my tards alone....

Too wide?? are you a small person::
<
...i found it perfect, a bit wider seat than my DRZ, but the dam thing is smaller as a whole compared tp my tard....

Roland Sands....

Is he that nob that thought it would be ace to use a KRV5 and turn it into a chopper?

Yeah I so the honda and kawi ones at Laguna Seca GP this summer and they are seriously cool as ..... I wonder how long it would take to change the bike between the track version and off-road one.

I thought I had read his name somewhere having to do with singles. I guess I am a fan of SOME of his work.

Are you talking about the Ducati Hyperbeak?

I can't tell if Sands bike is a variant of the original, its too beautiful. Thank god someone had the balls to cut the beak off it wasn't even big enough to be functional. The hand guards are gone too which is nice because I haven't seen someone ride a 400lb motorcycle with road tires through thick underbrush................not on purpose anyways.

Roland Sands has always had his finger on the pulse.I admire his work.

It was a little more than `ace`.

Did you mean to post this in baldylock's thread?

The 'prilias are twins by the way. With a price tag like theirs, I'd expect to get twice as many cylinders
<

no. not really ... I couple of replies above Sands was mentioned working on the singles - Wera and AMA considering having a class for the singles etc...
I was commenting that yes.. I have to have a single as well..

As far as the Hypermotard. I've riden a couple of them and they are nice. Really really easy to lift the front. Very agile and flickable.

I like Rolands take on it. His bike looks more like what the new Monsters should look like instead of a supermoto bike.

Given that. I don't see to many hypermotard being seriosly thrashed off road I see them being run mainly to exclusively on the streat. So R.Sands design is perfect..
