And Merchandise. How many Rossi replica helmets do you reckon AGV sell each year? And all those sun and moon, number 46 t-shirts, key rings, toilet paper (in Spain) ect.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Schumacher is a veteran in Formula 1 whereas Rossi isn't really one yet. Once Rossi's been in Moto GP for as long as Schumi's been in F1 then he may be on a higher income.
Rossi is a motoGP veteran. Bike racers need to have a higher level of fitness than car drivers, because a bike is a lot more phisically demanding. So youth is always important, and you cant run with the fastest when youre 40-somthing. So their careers are a lot shorter. On a grid of 19 riders, Rossi is one of only what? five riders who were racing in the premier class in the days of the 500s? Sounds like a veteran to me. He`s getting paid the most because he`s worth the most, and the only way he`ll get a raise is if a bidding war or rumours of a bidding war scare Yamaha into giving him even more money.
By the way, If you race the fastest bikes in the world, and get to travel all year long to the best tracks..... what the hell do you spend all that money on?
