Of course he is another alien and he lifted the motogp to the next level.
But, his saves are not inhuman, they belong to his riding style. In every corner the elbow is so close to the ground, so he doesn't even have to react like an animal, because the space between elbow and ground is so tiny that he "just" have to push him up again.
It's true yes, no other rider could save like him, but just because the "fall" is a few inches deeper and the rest is physique.
My ranking top ten:
#1 Zarco
He was on a (really really good) satellite M1, but the way he learned and rode was brave and I'm sure next year we will see his salto.
#2 Marquez
Maybe not the best season from him, because he just had to fought with Dovi, the factory M1's were weak, minus Lorenzo and minus Pedrosa. So his only really competitioner was Dovizioso. But he rode constantly and very good.
#3 Dovizioso
I just have the feeling, that there were many opportunities to win more races. Obviously the Duc was the best bike and with this fact, it's a huge disappointment for them, I really think Zarco or even Iannone would made it better.
#4 Rins
Although he had a very very very rough start in the season, since the time he was fit he showed a really good pace and that he is a real podium competitioner 2018. I think new class, new bike, many injuries- and come back that strong in your first year is very impressive.
#5 Vinales
After the tests like nearly everyone I thought 2017 will be him or Marquez. What else can I say? Very impressed after the first races, but as they changed the tire allocation he was finished. His behaviour reminded me of Lorenzo. Only gesticulating, perplexity and his gestures weren't that positive. But he showed that he is a competitioner for now and the future but I think he has a lot of work to fix his attitude.

Like my username, I'm a big VR Fan. This wasn't a good season. Always on one level, just quick enough to get on the podium, to slow to win races. Yes, the 2017 M1 obviously not that good as the 2016. We don't know what was going on at Yamaha, but they have to fix their problems with the bike quickly. For years the M1 was the nonplusultra, this season way behind Ducati and Honda.
I think Valentino is still suffering from 2015. But if this is so he has to close that chapter of shame and go on. He showed that he is still quick enough to win races like Assen and his alien performance at Aragon. But his consistency seemed to go away. Whatever, in 2018 he has to she more than an few highlights if he wants La Decima. There no doubt that he is capable to do that, but first of all he needs a revolutionary M1, not just every year a little evolution, I think that's not enough anymore, the other factories are too strong for that.

Although the Ducati isn't that rubbish bike as it was in 2011 and 2012, it's still a special bike, especially for someone who just rode the smooth M1, where his riding style was a perfect fitment for this bike.
So I'm not surprised that he slowy began to make progress, but you saw that he was getting faster and faster. I'm pretty sure that Lorenzo will be ahead of Dovizioso next season, Lorenzo is one of the aliens, in my opinion Dovizioso just more than average. And if Ducati is still making progress with the bike, than I wish you a good night Yamaha guys...

I think it's not easy to have such a comparison in the same garage. Same requirement, both rookies, both on the same bike. And I think that's the problem with Folger, his mind. Not only his illness. But he showed good pace and that he is capable to challenge Zarco, on the riding level yes, but not mentally.
If he could fix that I think 2018 can be a great year for him.
#8 Petrucci
Solid season for him. Now he has factory equipment but I'm pretty sure that often on race weekend he had to sort things out for the factory team, so less time for him to concentrate on his setting.
#9 Pedrosa
What can I say about Pedrosa. Yes fourth on the championship, but you have to compare him with Marquez, and Pedrosa was blown away again by him. So, solid number 2 and a teamplayer.

Same as Petrucci.
