He says homologation is the way to go at the end, but at the beginning he says that Moto2 should get rid of the spec ECU.




I think he is repeating the buzz from within the paddock. One group of people are incessantly condescending about the relatively low technology and the lack of manufacturer support. The other group wants pragmatic prototyping rules via homologation like the FIA use to police the "entry" level racing series (i.e. Super 1600, Super2000, Group N).




As far as I can tell, they use homologation to police WSBK. I think it would be smart to use homologation for prototype racing as well.
