In the last year or so there's been, in my estimation, a real change in Rossi's behavior and demeanor toward his fellow competitors. Rossi's jabs and mental maneuvers in past years are legendary. Now he seems genuinely open to having reasonable relationships with not only his teammate but his direct competition for the championship. Has there been a change in what you've seen in the paddock?

Why all the friendliness and is it genuine? When and why the change?

A few things changed.

1. He always hated Biaggi. He still does.
2. He felt betrayed by Gibernau when Gibernau (rightly) complained about cheating at Qatar.
3. He felt betrayed by Yamaha when they signed Lorenzo.
4. Casey Stoner. 'Nuff said.
5. He went to Ducati. That taught him a few lessons. One abiding memory is of a pack of journalists going back and forth between the Ducati hospitality and the Yamaha hospitality in 2010 to say "Casey, have you heard what Valentino said?" and "Valentino, have you heard what Casey said?" Not my proudest moment.
6. Stoner retired.
7. He came back to Yamaha with his tail between his legs, accepting that actually, Yamaha were right to hire Lorenzo.
8. Marquez entered MotoGP. The two are very alike. And there are battles on track again, which he enjoys.

Maybe also he's realized he's 36, and he won't be able to do this forever, and is just enjoying it. No point spoiling his last few years in GPs with a bitter feud.

Also, that photo? That's called "stealing the show". All of the comments I have seen on that photo have been along the lines of "isn't Valentino adorable? Doesn't he just have the cutest sense of humor?" Nobody is mentioning the fact that Lorenzo just kicked his arse utterly and comprehensively. He knows that Lorenzo craves attention, so anything he can do to take some of that attention away always helps...

So Krop, in some ways he hasn't changed so much as just altered the delivery ?

I have always believed that Rossi is the master of the light ... that is often seen as fun, be it the wording of a statement of the photo bombing that we have seen from time to time.

Likely well wrong (me that is) but whilst I have no doubt that humble pie had to be eaten by Rossi (in large doses dare I say), I also suspect that beneath the exterior lay the guy who would happily do whatever necessary and upset the compatriots by fair means or foul if it were to his advantage

Please tell me it's a bunch of dudes talking about how cute Rossi is...cause that's pretty damn adorable. However - IDGAF - Rossi is adorable. But JLo deserved his victory! Is it just me or do you think JLo is on the edge of tears every time he wins?

Nobody cares for Lorenzo. He sucks (not like a rider obviously), he is boring, he has nothing to offer to the sport, he doesn't sell tickets neither TV audience. Nobody like him, he looks like a kid. This guy doesn't even have a beard. He looks like a girl, a lil playboy, with a roundy face like a cookie, an anime, manga...

Lorenzo and the likes of him is bad for the sport. It's the eletronics generation. Look at the picture. What the f**k with this guy? Is this a real man or a shemale? The word "man" and "Lorenzo" doesn't add up, doesn't combine. It does not fit.

Nobody cares for that piece of ..... On the other hand, both Casey and Marquez are badass. They offer opposition to the sport hero.

Rossi sells the event, that's it. Valentino Rossi means MotoGP, and MotoGP means Valentino Rossi. I'm not a fan of Rossi, but that's it. He is the hero, and like every hero, he needs a vilain. Lorenzo is not a vilain, it's a ....... Marquez and Casey are.

There were an awful lot of Lorenzo flags in the crowd (and are at other events) to prove you wrong. I have been a Vale fan since I first got interested in go racing, but have also been a fan of Jorge. He is obviously a damn good rider, and his calm demeanor can also be appreciated. He, like Vale, has changed has he has gotten older. He doesnt seem to have the arrogance he did when he first started. I suspect beating Vale fair and square is the biggest cause for that.

The exception will always exist.

Take a ride around the world to feel what MotoGP really is.

Look, I'm not saying I agree with that. I'm just passing the impression of the sport. MotoGP is Valentino Rossi plus a vilain. The rest is the rest.

I'm nearly in tears after Lorenzo wins. With his post race shenanigans. They're sad. His desperately tying to stab his flag into the ground. Him holding his bike FOREVER waiting for someone to hold it for him while we faked the pond dive. So awkward.

Nothing to do with Jorge, But ever rider should study video of themselves throwing a tantrum. It always looks just plain silly. Keep it classy fellas.

Did anyone else notice Crutchlow throwing his arms up and have mini fits at the ghosts that were following him during practice this weekend? I noticed it more than a couple of times. He throws his hand up, looks back, and no ones there.

Krop, if you in the mood to answer some questions of what is going in the paddock....then can you tell us what is the real story with Nicky's wrist?

Is what the BT Sport announcers (Neil.H and the other guy) saying during their broadcasts true about Nicky 'icing his wrist', 'riding with one hand', and that his wrist is actually still injured?

Thanks

The analysis is correct form the psychological point of view, but one must add that Rossi does that "acting", or manipulation, instinctively. He looks spontaneous because he is, even though he's far from innocent of course. He does similar things all the time at the Tavullia ranch with his buddies, with or without cameras, when they race for a pizza or a salame. If you try to act like that deliberately, it looks contrived and doesn't work.

Completely agree. His natural tendency is to steal the show, just because he likes clowning around. It's not that he does it specifically to annoy Lorenzo, it's that he does it, and if it just happens to annoy Lorenzo, all the better.

I don't know for certain. The impression I get is that his wrist is ....... But Hayden gets very cagey if you ask him questions about it, says it's just fine. Which means it's ....... But that is just my guess, so don't quote me on it.

Just from what has been fairly tersely released to the public it is obvious his wrist is irredeemably screwed, like several before him. I often wonder why, particularly as a former world champion, he persists on the bike he is riding with his wrist the way it is. I guess it is possible he still likes being involved in the whole thing despite these handicaps.

I would imagine even his position on the grid, he is still brining in a pretty good amount of money. I wouldnt have the slightest idea what Aspar pays him, but he is still in some Dainese ads and is prominent in Tissot's promotion.

Nobody cares for Lorenzo.

I like him...

And FYI for calling him a ..., he is one of only 3 riders to have handed Rossi his arse in the last 10 years, and he gets extra points for doing it on the same bike. Say what you will about him, but Rossi crashed in Mugello 2010 because he was feeling the heat of one Jorge Lorenzo kicking his arse.

Plus, ANY MotoGP world champion is anything but a ......

Oh no, please don't tell me you're a Rossi boppa!!?!?

Barry's hand is ...... too, but for different reasons ;)
