Hello, I recently asked this question on another forum but no one has answered me so I thought I would try here. My original question was where did people think the best place for viewing at indy for the moto gp was. E Penthouse was sold out but it was probably out of my price range anyway. I was torn between e box, j or h stand. I wound up purchasing seats in granstand h, section 24 and row ee. This looks like a great place to watch the race but I was wondering if anyone else has sat in grandstand h and what they think. This is my first moto gp so I am very much looking forward too it.

Hey David.

looks like that's a pretty good place. you've gotta big screen right there, you can see a few corners and aren't too blocked but the tower terrace. The first year i went i made the mistake of getting my seats on the bricks. Now we're on the very top row of the south Vista. I really dig those seats 'cause we can see quite a bit. (as long as a hurricane doesn't hits

I recommend walking around during practice and checking the view from lots of different places. sitting on the golf coarse in the grass up on a berm can be pretty good.

let us know how it works out.

If you are on a budget, best place is at the end of the straight because you have a big screen, you see the garages, and turns 1-3 and if you are high enough, then turns 4 that leads to the back. And you will also see the start.

These were taken from end of front straight with a simple point and shoot camera.

The other choice are the stands coming into the straight where you will see the last few turns, good overtaking spots. Also, that's the entrance to pit lane, so you will see who is coming in to garages (though you will be too far from the garages to see inside. This is not a very good picture but here you will see all the turns in the background and see them going back into the straight. Don't let the bad picture fool you, this is a great place to see, right where the straight begins. Lots of action, plus if its a close race, surely there will be a pass for the win on the last turn.

Third choice is to say .... it, and get general admission and sit on the berms on the back straight. This is where you can get closest to the turns and see some nice action. There is also a big screen there so you will see the action from the rest of the track.

And you will be close to Ducati Island, where the view is always good. As you can see here from this pic, you get a great view of the curves.10157:p1040022.JPG]

If you want a free beer at the track PM and I will hook it up as I will probably have a few cases in the trunk of my rental full of Tecate beer.

Yep,

If you're on budget, there are plenty of FREE grandstands to seat yourself.

Friday they don't check stand tickets, so you can check them all.

One thing to remember, bring all you need in the morning as there is NO in and OUT privilege at that track.

thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it. I will definetley check out the view on ducati island(although I may come home with some pictures my wife can't see) and check as much out as I can. Certainly If I arrive for final practices there should be plenty of time. I have sat in grandstand a for the 500 the last 4 years and one year in the paddock for the f1 race. Obviously those wern't the best seats for this race. I sat in grandstand c one year for the brickyard(I can't believe I actually went to see that mess) and it certainly didn't appeal to me for this either. So once again thanks for the tips. I am used to walking around quite a bit at road races. I plan on doing a lot of walking this weekend at MidOhio.

Seconding this. I sat in the B grandstand at the end of the straight and I really enjoyed the view. Not much else to add since Jumkie covered it well in his post.

I found a pic on the net of the view from grandstand h and it looks pretty good. Now I am really ready for my first moto gp. Wlll be checking out the general admission areas as well. Thanks for the suggestions.
