From the Official Site:
986 – Casey Stoner has accumulated 986 points during his career in the MotoGP class. If he finishes either first or second in Qatar he will become the 17th rider to pass the milestone of 1000 points in the premier class of Grand Prix racing.
So either Dorna can't do math or they changed the scoring system for third place and I missed it. If its the former, then this small hiccup is one small symbol for their general incompetence at everything.
I am half expecting Ezpeleta to bust out an "april fools he can finish third too guys!!" Or they figure if he is not first or a close second then he probably got too tired and sick to finish anywhere else? What gives?
