Just read a report on the possiblity of Team Kr not being able to field any bikes for the 2008 season.

Apparently honda are refusing to supply additional engines for any other satelite teams any more apart from the factory teams and - gresini, lcr and minolta. meaning 6 race bikes and 1 engine.

This could mean that if they cant source another engine supplier so they can run a 2 man race team hen they may not be able to race

thats a shame as they have shown last year to be competetive , fair enought at certain circuits and KRJR is also a previous world champion and would be missied in the paddock.

I know ducati lease 2 bikes and engines as well as yamaha on top of their factory committments so i dont know where another engine suplier could come from

any ideas???

TEAM KR are only making up numbers on the grid anyway

Better to have KR on the grid than nothing. Besides, 2006 showed they have the capabilities to make a great bike. It will be sad to have a grid without a KR bike.

quite aggree,

the more smaller teams pull out , the bigger gaps in between the riders on the track which will make for pretty poor viewing.

We need people like team kr and the bike has shown potential considering it is now the only privatear team with their own chassis set up now that ilmor have retired.

i cant beleive that honda cant strech to one more engine - they already supply over a third of the grid

we need more people not less

Exactly, will the Japs be sad to see the back of him? I doubt it somehow. KR has been a pain in the ... to the japs since he said that staying with Yamaha would be "good for his golf"

The sport needs more KRs, not less.

Only after HRC sent them the correct dimensions and manufacturing techniques so they knew exactly what to do. Without major help from a big factory team KR are out of their depth in four stroke motogp.

i think it's just a second engine honda has said no to, king kenny wants to field 2 bikes but honda have said he will only get one engine, i believe suzuki kawasaki have said the same, jumkies suggestion of ilmor might not be so far fetched.

The last 2 stroke that McWilliams rode (against the diesels) showed how far KR had come, and that to me makes it ..... that they may dissapear.

GP racing has a history of the wee guys just occcaionally getting it right and kicking the big guys in the nuts. The times that the MZs hit the front or Mackenzie got a third at Donington on the RoC, (or indeed, the Marlbro boys used the RoC frame)! or the times that a Roberts bike got to the front of the grid, make the world a better place. These guys arent going to win championships, but it's nice to see the Japs get a bloody nose now and again from a wee race team or manufacturer.

i agree with you completely, i was just pointing out that a large amount of their success last season was owed to Honda for the help they got, without it they were struggling.

why? cant he get yamaha to work with him? hell he rode for them for years. is there bad blood somewhere I don't know bout?

I think the "golf" quote above explains how he was feeling.....Kenny wanted to be developing and putting input into the bike. Not just uncrateing and fueling up,,,,,,
