Perhaps the 800's don't handicap the bigger lads so much.

Hoffman killing it.... With Hayden and pedrosa times im guessing the Michelins Q tires worked well

Or maybe Hayden might be a better rider than people want to give him credit for.

Hoffman outpaces Barros, thats promising, Ducati still doing well and good to see Honda bouncing back! Suzuki however, still struggling..

Yamaha and Kwaks to test starting Monday at Qatar..

nice to see Hayden showing everyone what he's worth.

the zooks reguarly struggle at the island... thats my excuse

The Suzukis regularly struggle, its normal. It is nice to see Hayden shutting everyone up. And Toni Elias moving foreward, i wanted to see that happen!!

Don't expect it too often though.

As good a rider he may be, I fear Estoril may have been a one off.

Yeah he is still a huge unknown. He could yet develop into a consistent challange, but he might be a low runner with a random win every now and then so we don't forget him.

Toni Elías main problem is he has an unusual style, which requires a lot of time to get a good setup. Unlike Rossi or other smart riders he can't just adapt to any given bike and ride it fast, it's not one of his skills.

With all the changes he's going through, new bike (990->800), new tyres (Michelin->Bridgestone) I think it will take him some time to sort it out.

So I don't think he'll set the world on fire in the first few races (Jerez doesn't count). Hopefully it won't take him 3/4 of the season to figure it out like last year!

I agree, but i will be chearing him on as best as i can at Jerez

Anyone know if Ducati's times were set on Qs as well? Although good to see Nicky with a race pace in the mid 1'30s and throwing down 101 laps.

Nicky's quote at today's conclusion....I wonder who he was referring to? Yea, he know's Rossi is ready to take it to everyone this year.

Nicky Hayden, Repsol Honda: 1m 29.52s - 101
laps "The last day here was definitely the most
positive of this test and also of the year so
far. We found a few settings on the bike that I
liked and made some good progress. I also did a
longer run and the times were pretty consistent
in the 1m 30s bracket on race tyres, which is
positive too. It's not like we can call the dogs
off yet though because we've still got some work
to do! We were fastest today on the qualifying
tyre and I really think that's down to Michelin's
qualifying tyre working really well here. Also, a
certain somebody wasn't at this test, so just
because we're quickest today we can't relax. I
want to say thanks to my team because I'm really
happy with how well we're working together. Plus
I've got a new Showa suspension technician and
that's already going well too. Now we'll head to
the next two tests and see where we stand then."

I like Nick, he's a righteous dude...

plus as long as Nick stays in front of Thumbelina i'm happy...

Yeah, yamaha kawasaki and ilmor are going to sepang. The PI crew are heading to Qatar, but the Sepang 2 crew will miss that also.

Thats my understanding of the testing anyway, please correct me if i am wrong.
