My prediction is that they'll introduce a fancy new rule to make it look like they're doing something. Then they won't do anything. Window dressing.

True enough.  The situation mirrors 'real world' politics.

Those with power .... about and make a big show of passing laws that supposedly protecting the commoners from crime, guns, Golden Boy Torpedo Attack, whatever.

In reality, there are already more than enough laws and rules on the books...

But the laws are only as good as they are enforced.

Did u truthfully see parity in moto2 last year!?

You want parity? Here's my thought.

Honda produces 50 bikes. Complete bikes, motor, chassis, supply suspension etc. The bikes have standardized fairing, tank and seat mounts. At the beginning of weekend the team is issued a bike and they slap their fairing on, away they go.

If you had this rule you'd sure as hell find out who the best riders are very quickly and it would give you some exciting races too I would say. Of course it would never happen but it would be well worth watching if it ever did.

Depends what you mean by "best". Some riders may be better than others at aspects of their craft. E.g. you could have an identical make series where tyre conservation is important, or a single make serious where balls-out speed is important.

This rule is in effect. The series is called the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

Motogp, I hope, will never become a spec racing series. I believe that defeats the purpose of racing.

If they want to have more parity, the teams should be required to open source all of their designs and technologies, including software, at the end of each year.

Teams would still be able to benefit from technical innovation, in the year in which it is introduced. But other teams that can't afford that much research and development would still be able to maintain a level of competitiveness by using past year's technologies. And teams that might want to enter or re-nter MotoGP would have a ready bank of technology that they could use to help them catch up.

It would prevent manufacturers putting technology in their MotoGP bike that they wish to keep secret. But it would be better than going too far down the line towards a spec series.

First chance to see this not put to action?

Because your boy got punt to 3rd. Guess you did not see what #46 clone did to Sete back in 05.

Like Moto3 and Moto2 but with stock chassis? Nah, It wouldn't float my boat. Unless you want to drive me to SBK, in which case it's a great plan.
