<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (VHMP01 @ Aug 22 2009, 02:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Man, you lost the plot… In the same post as the question, I was saying: “So, even if you want to extend that period, it was just that ‘One’ year (2007) when Ducati was better than Yamaha (with facts to prove it)”.

If I choose to lose the plot that is my choice but man it is difficult at times to know who is saying what about whom and yet we are supposed to stay up to date.

Well if you want an answer ask a question with relevance to the content that you want it based on (ie. by including the quote you have the second time).

You first question was in response to Al's one upmanship tennis comment - geez, how are we supposed to know that you comments refer to a Jumkie post elsewhere

<

But to take you post, I am glad you want to look at it that way as we have others saying that Ducati were better than Yamaha in 2003 as well.

As a piece of fun though, I am sure that the Ducati could be meade to look bad in any year, just as the Yamaha could in 2008 (and again this year, although tougher) buy as Jumkie suggests removing the highest place getter. But hey, we are talking pedantics and people just want to believe what they want so who cares right (remember that many people call that period a bay year for Rossi/Yamaha).

Gaz

It's all cool mate, cheers!

Bridgestone had huge success in F1 by designing the tyre exclusively for Ferrari, and they decided to do the same for Ducati. I do not try to take away anything from Stoner and Ducati. I just want to point out they do not have that tyre advantage anymore.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BlackKnight @ Aug 21 2009, 03:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>As for the tyre debate. Does anyone believe that Honda did not move heaven and earth in an attempt to stop Rossi winning on his first season on a Yamaha? I think that Honda probably have more influence with Michelin than any rider?

It always makes me laugh when the Rossi haters go on about the Rossi boppers - they are two sides of the same "none so blind as those that don't want to see" coin.

Gaz pretty much covered it. But the highlighted part had me laughing. That's rather comical to say. Yamaha is equally a titan in the sport, les you check your title stats for the last 30 years. For all the Honda influence, it was nullified by Yamaha's influence; guess what the tiebreaker is? Hint: the man who gets the special tires from the tire maker who sells their product not only to Honda owners, but also to Yamaha owners.

As to your other point, tell me, what rider's fans have consistently and incessantly rubbished the accomplishments of the 06/07 title winners? And what might this spawn? Pointing out the double standard is usually equated as "hate"; and usually only by those who ^ can't distinguish between the reality of two sides.

Are you going to rewrite history too?

Seems like its not over with yet...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Dani Pedrosa has admitted that he is considering a switch from Honda to Ducati next season.

Ducati team boss Livio Suppo hinted yesterday that he had not given up on attracting the 23-year-old Spaniard across from Honda, where he is yet to confirm a deal for 2010.

Pedrosa says he is considering a move to Ducati, but is concerned by the way that Casey Stoner's two previous team-mates have struggled to be competitive on the Desmosedici.

"With Ducati there are some discussions, some talks. They are interested in me," Pedrosa told Italian magazine Motosprint. "I don't know the positive and negative points with Ducati, even though from the outside it seems that only Stoner can ride it in a certain way."

He also says he is in talks with Honda about renewing his contract, but warns that a lack of early development on the team's 2010 bike could prompt him to leave.

"As far as I'm concerned, the situation [with Honda] is totally similar to the way it was in Brno: there's nothing new, there's nothing concrete. In any case, talks with Honda are quite advanced.

"I know, however, the reasons that could prevent me from renewing with Honda. The problem is that I'd like to know if the current bike is the one I'd have in 2010 too - that's the most important issue for me. Yamaha has already gone to the track with the new bike, while we need to know what the plans are for next year.

"It's important that, at the end of the last race of the season at Valencia, HRC is already able to not only go on the track with the 2010 bike, but that this is already at a good level.

"I don't want a repeat of what has happened in previous seasons, when I had to start the season with a bike that still needed to be sorted, and with several parts changed during the season. Starting with a good base avoids many problems."

Pedrosa has won just one race for Honda so far this season and is currently fourth in the standings. Following his crash while leading at Indianapolis last weekend, he is still nine points behind Ducati's Stoner, who has missed the last two races.

Someone remind me, but wasn't this his fault as he was banged up and couldn't test those previous seasons and then blamed the bike on Hayden (who has a totally different riding style).

indeed.

I can't see Pedrosa leaving Honda. Then again, I was convinced Lorenzo would leave Yamaha and he didn't. So based on my logic and luck, Pedrosa will switch to Ducati.

Can anyone find any flaws in my logic?

Ah man I don't know about this. Is Puig going to come over with him if he signs with Ducati. Screw that!!! I am nowhere even near a fan of Dani now I would have to consider liking him by default of being a Ducati rider. I really think Nicky once he gets it together will be fine for Ducati, plus he is a decent dude and doesn't bring all that stupid baggage. See this is why I wish all that wonderful tobacco money should be allowed in the sport. What is this ........ that they can't advertise cause kids will want to do it. Most of the data shows that when you give people the choice kids don't want to use tobacco. Thrill of the chase and not the kill. That is a big reason why they drink or use tobacco, even drugs. This actually was just on our news over here the other day with one of the former judges in California who now is against Pot prohibition. Not to get this deep into it but when you look at the present state of finances in GP let alone other sports, I say take it where you can get it. Let them come back in with a limited exposure like Ducati has if you must. But that would allow other teams to be there in a better more relaxed capacity by not being so financially concerned. Oh well we all have the energy drinks now starting to dominate. Yeah cause they are sooooo healthy for the kids to, right?
