Pedrosa Retiring???

Rumours are circulating that Pedrosa will withdraw from the 2017 championship due to injury. There's also rumours of Cal being offered either a factory ride or full factory support which makes me thinks there could be a lot of substance to the rumours.

Pedrosa has only had 3 season out of 9 where he hasn't missed races due to injuries. In my experiences with sports injuries (broken bones, 2 knee recos, shoulder reco, broken vertibrae plus miscellaneous injuries that have put me out of action) it gets harder nearly every time to continue to push through the surgery and rehab then to be faced with trying to get back to full fitness.

Source was Twitter(Cal) and motoacelaracions FB page(Dani)

I think if he does retire, it would be fair for Honda to offer that ride to Cal... but how often is Honda fair?

Have seen the rumours as well but have seen a few variations of them

1 being that Cal stays with LCR but is on a full factory with full factory support whilst others come onto the secondary Repsol (and yes, have heard the name Marquez mentioned)

Will wait until it happens but if the retirement is true, I hope he gets a Valencia send off as whilst at times he has been rather a divisive figure (in terms of fan opinion), he has been a very good rider and will depart as probably one of, if not the best to never have won a world championship in the top class

Rumours... Rumours....

But.... I have my peeps inquiring.

Cal has options with lcr for 2017.

Are these people from the 'club' and if so, how do they plan on obtaining the information ................ will they try to suck it out of people?

Honda should offer the second seat to Lorenzo. After all, isn't that how Cal Butthole did it? Dishonored his Ducati contract and landed a Honda parachute. He's now in line for an HRC factory ride, ...., this guy should .... off to Vegas and play the powerball. ....... Marquez, see what you did by falling out of PI? I also blame Michelin for ....... over Pedrosa in their quest to prop up the Golden Boy.

Get your head straight Pedro. Don't give up. Hang in there little buddy. I can't have this .... under a factory banner. He's already like nails to a chalkboard when he opens his mouth.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

Ok he never dishonoured a Ducati contract he had an option to get out of the deal after one year and I believe Ducati also had the same option. He had mechanical issues that caused him to crash and/or made riding the bike an even bigger pain. The second half of the season got better for him but at the time he made the decision it was understandable. If he gets onto the Repsol from LCR he has 100% earned it IMO with his recent performances. Hell he arguably deserved the call up to the Yamaha factory team more than Rossi did after 2012. As far as who is the best candidate to replace Pedrosa he is probably it. Perfect back up rider to Marquez.

Cunthole signed for 2 years, he quit after 1. He didn't get pressed out, despite talking .... about his employer for his own shortcomings. Ducati did not terminate his contract, Cuntslow was responsible for his withdrawl. That makes him a chickenshit contract breaker. Unfortunately LCR had an open seat, otherwise he would have stayed despite crashing regularly on a Ducati. He left because he was opportunistic. He whined and cried that he deserved to be a factory rider for accomplishing ..... He got it undeserved then ...... off because he couldn't handle the challenge. Using his word, he WHIMPED out.

Butthole has always talked ...., he did at Tech3, at Ducati, and just last week whining that HRC is not supporting him enough. He dialed it back during the press conference. He hasn't earned ..... He didn't earn getting into GP to start with and landed on good machinery ever since. He won the wet weather tire gamble, and Marquez crashed out of the lead in a year he dishonored his contract with Ducati.

...., if he gets the HRC seat it will be ......... I'm sure Marquez's crew will lobby to sign Cuntslow up, a non-threat to the title.

Apart from maybe Lorenzo who else in the paddock at the moment would be a threat to Marc's title hopes on the Repsol bike?

.... who knows to be honest. Look, had Buttflow honored his contract at Ducati, his stock would have finally seen him laughed out of GP. Surely he would have continued outside of the top 10-15, crashing out half the season. He crashed out of 5 of the first 6 races, have we already forgot? So to answer your question, who knows. Someone else was supposed to be on that LCR and .... Craphole would have probably been in Iannone's position with an injured body. That's what happens when you're bailed out, fortunes change. God knows what might have happened if Carmelo Clause hadn't bailed out Rossi. Surely Lorenzo wouldn't be headed to Ducati today. You get what I'm saying? The .... has been altered. For starters, Cunthoe took a seat at Tech3 after winning two Superbike races. He took a seat that most likely someone else could have done more with.

How would Iannone fair on a Repsol bike? The Honda seems to suit a more aggressive rider, if he could be a little more consistent, he might be able to challenge for a championship on a Repsol, though thats not in the cards for him at the moment.

Not sure he would be able to beat Marc on it, but with his style he would certainly have a good shot at it.

Haha... You should know by now what my connections are inside the paddock.

DP:

Recently, some journalists wrote that they heard rumors about me retiring. These news are groundless and I can’t wait to be back on track!

Rumors about him retireing pop out every year. About Cal is tle last one, before it was about Miller.

American Honda could always push and pay for PJ Jacobsen to join either MM or replace Cal at LCR.

JLo at HRC with MM...it would certainly make JLo be much more humble....and would lead to him retiring at end of that contract....

Personally, I think HRC should bring up someone like Taka Nakagami.....the series needs a full time Japanese top flight rider....

Only other option is to bring up Alex Marquez....which will happen sooner or later...no matter how mediocre his results are in Moto2

That is the name I have heard a few times but I must stress that it is BS talk and nobody making the talk has connections (from which I know) as it is seen that to bring Alex up, he will comfortably play second fiddle to Marc for a few years whereas it is felt that other riders may not.

Do I expect it ........ no, but I would not be surprised if Alex ended up in a Miller style of role for a manufacturer (not saying Honda as they may not want daddy Marquez in a double dose)
