I'm interested to read the topics at the moment claiming Dani could make it to champion in Moto GP.
Personally, I don't think it can happen, so I'd like to pose this question.

If Dani would have stayed in 250s, who would have won the 250 title this year?

I, unlike many have chosen not to jump on the Stoner bandwagon, which also houses the 'diss Pedrosa tent'. Most here recognise Pedrosa's talent.

Well, I can't stand old Golden Boots, quite like Dani, so I hope you're right when it comes to the big class. Although I can't see Lorenzo settling for fourth!

As machinery has become so much more important in the big class, it changes our arguement.

Dani on a sorted Honda...very good, as fast as Stoner ATM.

Jorge on a sorted Yam...erm debateable, although I respect Lorenzo's speed, he does seem to be up against the weakest 250 field for a while and on a very good bike.

I call JT to beat em both!

Pedrosa for me. Lorenzo will struggle next year ... I expect him to have an average debut year!

Expect to see "Lorenzo Land" flags being sold cheaply trackside next year! ie at give away prices!

I don't think anyone 'settles' for 4th place, you can only ride so fast, and with his experience/lack of he won't be fast from the off.

Looking at Lorenzo/Aprilia vs Pedrosa/HondaNSR, this year I think Lorenzo should win. First because Lorenzo has grown/improved a lot last two years, while we don't know if Pedrosa should have lost motivation by riding other two years in the 250cc. Second, Aprilia is absolutely a better bike than Honda right now.
 
oooooooh good question. i really had to think about this one

it depends really, are they both on the same bike or the bikes they were on in their championship winning years (ie dani has the honda and jorge has the aprilia)

id say Dani. although they both prefer to win from the front, neither are that great battling to be honest.
 
This is a very difficult question. I can't stand either of them. So I would say they would be tied. Since we are speculating, I'd like to throw Stoner in the mix. I'd say Stoner would win between the three of them.

why is it a question of which one you dislike more? whats that got to do with who would win? i dont like lorenzo at all and my favourite rider is pedrosa but that doesnt mean dani would necessarily beat him.

not that the question involved stoner but if you took him as he was in 250's theres no way in hell he would have beaten dani or jorge, now maybe, but not then

Jorge and Dani have both mastered the 250 better than Stoner ever did, i think they'd both beat him.

My memory may be failing me, but when did lorenzo beat stoner in the 250s?

I certainly recall pedrosa beating him in the championship; stoner was competitive and won several races, but crashed more often as was formerly his wont. I am too old and tired to revisit the argument about factory bikes etc.

lorenzo didnt win a gp til the opening round of 2006

Yup, you are right, it has nothing to do with the question. I just didn't feel like using brain cells to come up with a relevant answer. Sorry.
 
good question Burky

it's something i would have loved to see because i don't know the answer. I rekon Lorenzo is more aggresive so possibly he would have the edge - now that the are both sat aboard an 800 i'd still stay Lorenzo for next season
