The half hearted idea that Pedrosa could race/develop the 800cc in the actual 06 season has gathered pace.MCN report Honda may well have him on the 800 in selected races next season. Can`t wait.

They don't have anything to lose, I just don't understand why they would put him on it part time. Adjusting to a different bike every other weekend would be very difficult for a rider. Why not just put him on the 800 all season?

Dani on the 990 to bulk up the muscle and the 800 to poach extra development time-just a wild theory.

I don't think the 800cc bike exists already, because there hasn't been any leak or spy photos. And even if it did, since Kato's death Honda makes many miles with a new bike with test riders in Japan before handing it to the HRC team. So I doubt we'll see Dani or any other rider using the 800cc next year.

I think it does exist. Nicky was interviewed candidly with a home video camera by someone on his website forums, in the rider area at Philip Island a couple weeks back and she posted the video. he makes a statement and kinda slips up and tries covering it up.... it goes something like:

"hey nicky can you tell us about the 800cc bikes, blah blah blah"

"yeah i dont know yet, i havent been on but in a couple months when im on one i can... i mean next year ..."

so i think they have it ready for some winter testing.

Looks like Honda are not focused enough for next year, looks like another 3 title's for Yam. Starting to worry about an 800 already if you are correct General.

They may very well lose out on titles in 2006 but if they are that focused on the 800cc project they will win in 2007. Look what happened in 2002, utter domination by Honda. and Rossi but no one could touch the RC211V. I predict similar superiority from the Honda machine in 2007.

It`s a STRONG possibility.

I just cant wait to see how good pdrosa is....

I hope he adapts to the big bikes real quick and be a front runner early on.

Yes classified, but you would deffinatly expect this 800 to be feather weight ?and looking in the MCN again !it looks like Melandri will not get any factory help, like Gibbers did,but if that where the case i would think they would be cutting their own throats, because this guy is going to be up there challenging Rossi next year with Hayden,so if it is just a case of satisfying sponsers, Honda would be fools !
<
<

Can`t beleive they`re not putting full support for Marco-He is arguably the best Honda have got alongside Nicky
<

I had heard he was to get factory support as Gibernau did. Did HRC pull their third factory seat?

Actually it's because of the sponsor, Repsol didn't want other teams to have factory bikes.

I think next year for Melandri, it will be one of those "if hes challenging rossi enough we'll give him some HRC bits"

Thing is, it seemed that any rider this year who had HRC machinery would fold under that pressure of having that machinery! oh yeah- apart from nicky- but you could say thats because hes had HRC machinery for a while and felt safe in the team no matter what results he picked up.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (rossi 46 winner @ Nov 9 2005, 08:44 AM)<div class='quotemain'>does any 1 know wot the weight differance is between the moto gp bike and 800 cc bike?

it depends on how many cyliders the machine will have. 5& 6 cyl machines carry the biggest wieght penalty. less cyl less wieght.

So what configurations do you think the manufacturers will use?

Honda- V3? two at the front and one at the back?

Will the other jap manufacturers follow suit?

Ducati? a smaller Vfour? or even a Vtwin?

Correct me if im wrong but would the easiest thing to do for all the manufacturers just reduce the capacity of their existing engines? or using the knowledge of their existing egines build a slightly smaller version of their current configurations?
