Its merely more of Curves kiddy crap that means F'all to 0.1% of the population ... ie. me! Do you get it ....... the import of Curves "play on words" does not mean much to me whether he wants it to or not

its just curve having a go ....... unless I missed something of more import to it and he actually means the sea level is going to rise 20m with Global warming!?

Get real R1 ...... I'm old .... long past kids and their "clever emphasis"

gee you are like the kid who has to try and tell a joke over and over till the people laugh ....... I know what Curve thinks "Rossi is God" .... I know Curve loves Rossi ........ I know Curve expresses this ...... I just don't have his medal at the moment that he deserves for the amazing performance he has exhibited ...... in being so clever!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BarryMachine @ Oct 21 2008, 12:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Yeah I know ...... however ....... I kinda find the explanation that there are now more races a bit odd ..... I question, that running such achampionship with so many races as this year ...... does deserve more cred. than you allow for ....... 15 races would have been easier than an extra 3 or 2 oe even one ......... so basicallly I feel if Rossi gets the greatest score of all time, this year, it is well deserved ....... as was Stoner's as was Doohans etc. etc. etc. ...... how much value can you put on a more rigourous season?

Edit: I swear some of these stories get prompts from on here ..... http://www.crash.net/motorsport/motogp/new..._to_settle.html

Well at least they are giving cred. where due.
Interesting point you raise there. The reason I raised the greater number of races was purely to show the percentage of points available which were actually taken by the championship winner each year. I hadn't even thought whether more or less credibility should be applied.

Is it more demanding with more races? I agree that an argument for that can easily be made.
<
Still remain impressed with Doohan's 90+% points haul though.

Regardless, I agree that Rossi, Stoner and Doohan's max point tallies are all incredibly impressive and that if Rossi improves on 367 then it will indeed be a well deserved record.

As far as the crash.net article, it is indeed amusing!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gsfan @ Oct 21 2008, 08:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Enjoy the last race of the year. It may be Stoners last.
That would be a very sad state of affairs and I seriously hope that the operation is a success.

Stoner on the Duke has been the only serious challenge to Rossi for the last couple of years and that challenge made Rossi up his game. For racing fans, this can only be a good thing.

Whilst I hope that Hayden can make the Duke work, that Dovi doesn't get shafted by Puig et al, and that the 2009 rookies go well; the loss of Stoner from the grid next year would be really sad.

I just hope that Stoner continuing riding without the op for another week does not compromise his chances next year.

Say Casey rebrakes again next year, from man handling the Duc. Dovi and Puig don't gell, Alberto gets Donra/Hrc/Repsol to trade Casey for Dovi.

Bring on 2009.5
