<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Yeah I know ...... however ....... I kinda find the explanation that there are now more races a bit odd ..... I question, that running such achampionship with so many races as this year ...... does deserve more cred. than you allow for ....... 15 races would have been easier than an extra 3 or 2 oe even one ......... so basicallly I feel if Rossi gets the greatest score of all time, this year, it is well deserved ....... as was Stoner's as was Doohans etc. etc. etc. ...... how much value can you put on a more rigourous season?
Edit: I swear some of these stories get prompts from on here .....

Well at least they are giving cred. where due.
Interesting point you raise there. The reason I raised the greater number of races was purely to show the percentage of points available which were actually taken by the championship winner each year. I hadn't even thought whether more or less credibility should be applied.
Is it more demanding with more races? I agree that an argument for that can easily be made.
Still remain impressed with Doohan's 90+% points haul though.
Regardless, I agree that Rossi, Stoner and Doohan's max point tallies are all incredibly impressive and that if Rossi improves on 367 then it will indeed be a well deserved record.
As far as the crash.net article, it is indeed amusing!
