It has leaked into the media that Fonsi Nieto (Kawasaki WSBK) will replace OJ in the French grand prix next week and the next GPs if Jaque isn't fit yet.

I knew this was going to happen.

i thought it strange when hodgsons name was mentioned being as he is employed by ducati.
personaly i think oj is a bit out of his league now in motogp so good luck to fonzy.

Hodgsons relationship with Bridgestone would be the only reason he gets this ride. By all reports Jacque will be fit so this is a null topic until the otherwise is announced. Nieto is more likely than Hodgson aswell, simply because of his relation with Kawasaki. (id chose Laconi over Nieto simply because of experience.)

Can't see how it could work that he'd ride anything else regardless of what tyres are on it. Nieto hasn't really lit any fires has he? Kawasaki need some new riders.

Erm...

Who actually would get the ride? No-one else is qualified to.

Biaggi was always mooted as a guy they wanted.

Well its been banded about that Nieto will replace Jacque full time next year. To be honest I thought Jacque was a strange choice in the first place. He never seemed any faster, just older?

yes.... paul has hit the nail squarely on the head. this is kawasakis biggest problem. & has been since they re entered gp's.

DePuniet is a good rider for the future, but they need a wise experienced rider who is actually fast. Gibernau would have been perfect i feel. But maybe Kawasaki's performance this year will convince a decent rider to get on board next year.

shame super shinya didnt stay with kwak, he did wonders with them over the past couple of seasons, he was consistant top 10 the season before last and a regular top 6 last season, mabe if this honda of his doesnt improve fast he may ask for his old job back.

Maybe the bike wasn't as bad as we all thought it was and shinya is a slightly more average rider.

I do rate Shinya fairly highly, and I reckon he would have won a race this year with Kawasaki. Ultimately though, they need a Rossi, who can turn them round Yamaha-style.

I dunno, i've never really rated him, but he was medium strength in 250, so he has some gp experience. I'm not sure how crap the zx10 is these days but i think Nieto could be better. As for this weekend, i think a top 10 would be impressive and points would be acceptable.
