Nicky Hayden praises ‘special talent’ Casey Stoner

Nicky Hayden has heaped praise on factory Ducati team-mate Casey Stoner ahead of the 2010 MotoGP world championship.

Ever since the Aussie joined Ducati in 2007, he has single-handedly turned the Bologna factory into a major force in MotoGP.

But his stunning success, which has seen the 24-year-old win 20 races since the beginning of 2007, has also seen Ducati labelled as a one-rider bike, with no other rider able to get close to emulating Stoner’s incredible success.

Kentucky rider Hayden though doesn’t believe the Desmosedici favours Stoner.

The 2006 world champion said: “It’s a great match. Casey finds the limit of this bike and I think some of his strong points to be able to so fast, so quick suits this bike.

"But really, Casey’s a special talent. I don’t think it’s so much other than just the bike suits his style. Sure, it’s a good package. But I think Casey would be just as fast on any bike. The bike is a little bit special.

"I’m not going to try to deny that fact. It has some things that make it hard to get the most out of it. But the limit is so high and I think he just finds it.

"The bike is, as other guys at times have shown, really strong. But he’s the guy that can do it week in and week out and that is what really sets him apart.”

Everyone's been very quiet on this one.
Another creadible person from inside the MotoGP circus give praise to Stoner !!!!

Where's Pinky, surely he will be going in to meltdown over this. Hayden (the devil) giving praise to Stoner (the God)

or another way to look at it;

Where's Curvey. he will probably be going in to meltdown too. Hayden (hardman god) giving praise to Stoner (.....)

meh ...... Hayden was perhaps even the first guy way back in 07 to come out with "it ain't the bike .... its Stoner" ...... one thing you can allways depend on with Hayden is that there aren't many fairies floating around in his words

Probably why the Rossifans hated him ....... till they had someone new to sook at

I don't know any Rossifans on this forum who actually hates Hayden if there is any i think few stoner fans do, get you facts right sookman.

I don't know if they are fairies but the the back-woods bomber ain't exactly being crystal on what he thinks...

Barry said "hated," not hating in the present.

There was a lot of hate going around for Nicky after he won the title, which culminated in the pathetic glory grab by some Rossi fans who trumpeted the "he has Rossi to thank for developing the Honda" line.

You are correct, however, that there seems to be no hatred for the Kentucky kid from the Rossi fans here. He simply isn't a threat. In addition, Stoner's 2007 performance quickly attracted the fantagonism, with his slightly more outspoken nature fueling the fire.

See the bolded part. Contrary to many think in this forum, Nicky thinks Casey will be only as fast as he currently is. So the theories of Casey dominating the field on Honda\Yamaha are just dreams?? eh

No BM.. You are not getting my point. He may be the fastest during the practices & qual and is he the one winning most of the races? Anyway, my point is about he being on inferiror equipment and how much faster he could go on a Yamaha..

as are the theories that he won't be faster. its all just speculation based on personal opinion/bias.

No I get it I'm just rectifying things for you.

If Nicky Hayden says Stoner would be just as fast on the other bikes he is not saying that the Ducati os as fast. He is merely saying that the next best rider on the same brand would be just as slow as the next best guy on the Duc.

So obviously if he was on a bike that JB built and developed he'd be miles in front and win everything.

Ofcourse I agree.
Just for arguments sake - going by the prevaling trend in the forum, the more a person in closer to MotoGP the better qualified he is to comment (In the Tardozzi arguments). So by this, Nicky is best source who has spoken about how fast Casey could be on other bikes.
And hence Nicky's speculation is better/more accurate than whatever has come out till now. If people don't agree to this then the arguments like 'Tardozzi knows better' are also BS.

Just for fun. No offence meant.
