Nice Bike

My almost neighbour had a visit from his son the other day and he arrived on a very nice bike. The sound it made was just awesome and the paintwork was superb. Being the kind hearted person I am here is a picture so you can all see how good it looked. Well you might disagree, but I was impressed by it.

Oh and I asked his dad what kind of bike it was, he said it's a 'low something, 1700cc made in America', very helpful

One mistake too many Jumkie... If you lived in the UK, he wouldn't be allowed to ride that anywhere. No legal number plate, no indicators, no rear reflector, no mufflers, no stoplight. Unless he brought it in a van and unloaded it in the drive?

And a bad magazine scan can't substitute for a photograph - no Exif data. No metadata. No data at all, apart from the JPEG compression ratio. If it was a photograph uploaded to photobucket (which is where it came from - http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd288/blue_angel65/bike2_zps5db9bd0a.jpg)

It would still have the exif data attached - Photobucket doesn't strip it.

Jumkie is a man, I'm a woman, big difference. We are not the same person, sorry to disappoint you. Though I do count Jumkie as a friend. That is a genuine picture of my neighbours house and his sons bike. He rode it to the house and he rode it away again I watched and heard him through my front window.

As for the picture, my neighbour took it on his camera and printed it off himself (not great quality) then I had to scan it into my computer. So yeah, not the best quality but it is what it says it is. Believe it or not, it's up to you! Oh and yes, I did upload it to photobucket, when I resized it (it was massive) I renamed it bike2, I named it bike when I scanned it in.

Sheesh, some people are so disbelieving

I would love to see him riding it on the road... plod would have a field day.

On the strength of others posts, I accept you aren't Jumkie's sock puppet... just.

But the length you went to to get a print of a photo, scan it, crop it, when you could have just had him email you the pic, is completely believable.

Please yourself BJ C, I don't have to explain myself to you but I am going to anyway.

My neighbour is an old guy, we don't have one another's email addresses and he just printed the picture off for me as I said what a great bike it was. I thought I'd put it up here to show my friends. If you want to take that as some kind of scam go right ahead. I know I am telling the truth, you can choose to disbelieve me if you want to, what do I care?

He rode the bike quite a distance from what I know, I hadn't even noticed the lack of number plate or indicators, yes, I am that dumb apparently. I was only looking at the paintwork and listening to the wonderful noise it made. I am not a biker, I don't notice these things, sorry. He also rode it away when they went home too, whether the police stopped him I have no clue. The guy also owns a Ferrari as well and his dad is very proud of him, hence the way he was so keen to give me a picture of the bike when I said how nice it was.

Trust me, another time I won't bother.

Okay, so my daughter (Ultra) and no, she's not Jumkie either, has done some googling because she wasn't happy that you didn't believe me. Seems in the UK you don't legally have to have working indicators on a bike. If they are already on the bike when it's made they do have to work, but there is no legal requirement to add them if the bike comes without them. As for the number plate, if the bike was registered before 2001 you don't have to have one on the rear of the bike, just the front. Was there one on the front? I have no clue, but there could have been.

Finally, the picture is of my neighbours garden as well as the bike, if you still need further proof I'll go outside with my camera and take a picture for you, it will have to be edited though (as that picture was) because it had the name of our road clearly visible in it and frankly that is something I didn't want to display on the forum.

Oh and the bike is a Bourjet Lowblow apparently. Google is a marvelous thing.

I assume the number plate is on the other side, curved around the rear sprocket/belt/chain (whatever's over there!) as is the norm with this type of custom. turn signals are probably integrated into frame ends on the rear and headlight bezel or bars on the front. LEDs is wonnerful things!

Anyway, Lyria, a little biker savvy: 'tis a nice bike if that's yer thing, but most on here (sportbike/race fans) would drool over any retro or modern sporting bike (on or off road style) but not many of us are googly-eyed over rehashes of Milwaukee's mistakes! Eye candy which ride barely acceptably in a straight line for a distance of 100k or less, brake like a bulldozer and handle like tractor!

Thanks Mick, I just looked at it and thought wow, great looking bike. As a non rider I wouldn't have a clue about it's good or bad points. I am so easily pleased, just the look and the sound it made impressed me.

Lyria, even though I'm not a fan of that type of a bike, I am glad you posted it. Yeah, this forum is for "racing" talk, but all motorcycles are a major key to why we are all here. We all also enjoy a good LOL, and general talk....so keep it up!
