Well, what would you like to see? Personally I would like to see a `Past Masters`class.Dig out the 500cc strokers and dangle some big carrots to riders from the last 10 or so years,They could race every other GP to give their body some recovery time in their advancing years
<
.Just imagine the sound of them screamers again with folk like Doohan,Gardner,Schwantz and other names who still race like Chilli,Haga and many others.Make it cheap on cost to race and get the factories to sponsor it anc we`re on to a winner-can you imagine the old rivalries that will be rekindled and the quality of racing in a semi serious dice for the first corner.Could even coax out Eddie Lawson,Foggy,Ron Haslam-I could go on but have a say please Brothers and Sisters.

There's someting similar going on F1, old (but not too old) famous retired drivers like Prost, Mansell etc... will compete this off-season in a category called GP Masters (or something similar). If it works out, I think someone could translate this to bikes. That would be really good !

The only problem with this in bikes is the danger level is much higher that in cars. In cars if you crash you are surrounded by a shell. Where in bikes should an old timer get off he is going to be seriously inured.

Yep that's probably the greatest problem, specially if they use 500cc 2 strokes. But maybe if they use superbikes (smooth and easy to ride) it could work.

trouble is these old guys falling off the bones are a brittle when ya get older and they don't heal as quick, bloody good idea though drill, a man of many talents

Perhaps a better formula for a "Legends Series" would be Supermotard. Road sections only, they still can get wound up to about 100 but no more so the element of danger decreases. Kevin Schwantz still races Supermoto in the AMA every so often. I'd love to see the likes of him, Doohan and other past racers out on a kart track doing it.

It's great stuff, anytime a bike steps out of line is exciting to watch. Is it any coincidence I like the Hayden and Bostrom brothers?
