I am very excited about this track....I almost cant wait for our boys to get there.. I think its going to suit motorcycles in some very, very entertaining ways....But i wouldnt really know, I am all the way over here in america....

That Turkey track looks awesome!! On a test ride the rider says there is a corkscrew there that challenges the one here in Laguna.

Talking about new tracks and America. There is a rumor going on that Barber Motorsports park wants to host the USGP. Maybe after the contract with Laguna is out or maybe two USGP's at once!!

Barber was supposed to be the site of the USGP but Laguna beat them to the money and the promises of starting to make the safety modifications. How interesting would it be to have two USGP's. This oe I could definitly go to since it would only be about ten hours north of me.

Its a rumor but it would be nice. The track is definitly a rider's track where the top speed is overshadowed by cornering ability.

The only problem with Barber is Mladin claims he only gets out of third gear once on his Superbike. That would mean MotoGP machines cruising around in second. Personally, I think it's too small for MotoGP, bring on Road America.

Hi

You think due to how much of a success Laguna was, a 2nd US GP would be great idea. Not sure Barber would be my choice.

They could always come race Knockhill here

they wouldnt even get out of 1st!

Good morning hopphead...
Yes yes huge amounts of cash were thrown at this property in istambul, its outrageous and over the top compared to our laguna seca.....did you see those F1 cages pulling G's on i think its turn 8....THE TURN GOES ON FOREVER.....the drivers all complained because their poor little necks were hurting them because at near 200 mph the turn goes on for 8 SECONDS!!! ....I cant wait...What kind of mayhem will our boys get into when unleashed on this fantasy playground? As always time will tell....As for two grand prix's in america, jesus-what are we waiting for? America is a massive piece of property..so much larger then european countries...We should lobby for an east AND a west american grand prix!..East & west, I like this-its got a nice ring to it...
Later all you hooligans....

I am happier that it went to Laguna rather than Barber, I think the track is better. Road America would be such a better track for it.

from what I understand is that Barber is not going to happen because the surrounding community cannot handle the number of fans coming in. There aren't enough hotels to hold everyone.

Apparently they are also building a new track in New Zealand, (one for you Marbles), don't know to much details, but i have heard that they want the GP boys there once its done.

Yes there is a new track going to be built in NZ but as far as I know it hasn't been started yet.

Also NZ is quite a small place don't think we could finance such a large Motorsport event however the group that are funding the new track are rich Bussniess men so I guess anything is possible.

Be great if it did happen though

miller motorsports park in utah. i think this will be the site of the usgp after laguna.or it could be the second usgp. it looks like its going to be an awesom track. road america would be a good track but they won't spend the $ to bring it up to fim standards. an eastern usgp would be great but where? barber? i think the problem with that track has been stated above. it is the only track in the east up to fim standards. maybe indy if they made a pure road course without the use of the oval. time will tell i reckon.

There is always the chance that changes could be made to Barber to provide the proper run off and to stretch the track out a bit. From what I hear Mr. Barber is a bit of a nut and it wouldn't be entirely out of the question.
I have also heard that the community surrounding the track has been adding hotels and could probably handle the race fans.

None of this info is fact it is just from a conversation with a very knowledgeable person who is very involved in the motorcycle scene.

that would be great if that were to happen doc. barber is about a 12 hr drive for me. i could do that standing on my ear. sure would be cheaper than flying out to california and payin for those high priced hotel rooms!!!

Having it in Alabama doesn't make it much better for me but closer is closer...

I would prefer the race to be held at VIR but I would just be happy to have one on this side of the country..

vir would be awesom! they might when hell freezes over

i think that road america if they would put enough oney into it.....unlikely. but other than that i think that the miller motorsports track in utah would be the best, something like 4.5 or 5 miles long. and also they could make it to fim standards without too much difficulty.

Yeah but it's in Utah....

There's nothing in Utah...
