Yeah, the general idea of the designer was to emulate that classic bol dor esthetic.
 
I think it's a generational thing. I just love that '80s Bol Dor esthetic. If I could own any Ducati, this is the one I'd want. It's a style that goes back 40 years. I could give a crap about old Vincent Black Shadows or old Indians. But this is my era. It's the look and feel that cafe bikes used to try so hard to capture.

Advertising gimmick. Unless you're using it solely as a track toy, they are going to be of no use at all.
