G'day

First post - have just signed up! I've been looking for a good MotoGP forum.

I was thinking the other day about Casey's year to date and wonder whether his move to Ducati could have had another upside (other than the fact that he seems really suited to the team and especially those Bridgestones).

I believe he lives in Monaco (as does Troy Bayliss) and does a lot of cycling (as does Bayliss). I wonder then whether he is spending time with Bayliss and he is mentoring him ... Casey could certainly learn a lot from Troy Bayliss!

Just a thought!

Hi Krusty!

i'm not sure about that coz hes considerably better than his mentor having had much more success in a year and a half of moto gp than bayliss did in his few years riding the ducati and then honda.

I think you may have missed my point. Regardless of how successful or otherwise Troy Bayliss may have been in MotoGP, you can't discount the fact he is a two times world champion for Ducati. I think Casey could learn a lot from Troy ... like how to maintain a long term relationship with the same manufacturer, how to conduct himslef in the "circus" with the team, sponsors etc, how to remain a good bloke that people respect etc etc ... I remember a couple of short years back that Casey and Chaz Davies spent some time with Troy in Monaco ... my bet is that they would respect Troy and listen to what he has to say! You could do a lot worse then to learn from him ... someone you wouldn't want as a mentor is that other former Ducati rider Carl Faggerty! What a tosser ... full of himself and his own self importance!

Are you the same Krusty from the Motogp news forum, the Aussie superbike racer Krusty?
Welcome anyway.

Unfortunately I can't say I'm "Krusty" Ferguson the Australian Superbike Rider. Well probaby lucky I'm not at the moment. He had a huge crash at one of the Australian Rounds a month or two back and has two broken legs.
Thanks for the welcome!
