Hey guys I have been following one of the young riders here in the UK.

I first met him about 20 mths ago and have been following his progress since.

His name is Rory Skinner just 12 years old and has 9 junior championship titles in 4 years to date.

Last year he got a special license from the Scottish ACU to race in their national 125gp category on a gp prepared 80cc machine,

He won 30 out of the 34 races he entered, one dnf was down to his dad not switching the fuel tap to on!

This vid is of him at Donington park a few weeks ago. His first time at a track he does not know or ridden before on a borrowed bike.

I would appreciate your comments as my company is going to help with his sponsership next year.

I truly believe he has what it takes to go all the way.

Apologies to all that know me out of PS that have been having updates etc of his progress via email.

Cheers Red ;)

i hope he does well Good luck

its a struggle to get picked up if your not in spain

many for around the world go to CEV and still dont get picked up.

Nice little race from some very young riders, makes me miss having Donny on the calendar. What bikes/series is he planning to race next year?

Don't listen to all the pessimists about needing to be Spanish. Look at the 2014 Ajo Moto3 lineup, if you're good enough anyone can still make it with the right support.

Also, good to hear your company helping out with sponsorship, everyone complains that there is no money but few are prepared to dip into their own pocket. Best of luck to all involved.

He is hoping to run in the series on the video next season, Aprilia superteens as a newcomer,

However living in Scotland and the series been England tracks it will cost them more so more sponsership is required.

The thing is with sponsers if you do sponser someone it is fully tax deductable, So say I give em a grand in effect I have already paid a grand on my years tax bill.

Doesn't cost me a penny, It's a no brainer for me and cannot understand why more people don't do it.

That race was the first time he had ever been on a 125 at a track never visited before.

I even got a mention right at the end too, chuffed as little meatballs when I heard that, He is a good kid and should go far,

Watch this space I'm going to follow his career and post it here as he goes on ;)

Good man Red! I mind Rory as a (very!) wee kid hanging round his dad's shop in Dundee. Mike, (Dad) is no slouch on a bike either, and a good guy. Rory really looks like he has the talent to go places, Go for it lad!

Was interested to see what he could do after you showed me the photos at Brands. He seems naturally quick. You can't teach that, only refine it. I'm sure he'll do well. He also conducted himself very maturely in the post race interview.

I dug up this thread just to mention that Rory Skinner has won the first supersport race this weekend in BSB!
