"I was in Southern California, so it was real easy to come up here," says Hayden, the 2005 MotoGP World Champion. "We got some great weather so I came out here, did a couple laps." Nicky also made a guest appearance at a private Honda event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. "Laguna Seca, obviously, has a special place in my heart," said Hayden, a two-time winner of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix (2005 & 2006). "Honda is launching their new bike here so we came, hung out, and did some laps."

Talk about excellent journalism.

I read the 2005 thing as well, but decide to ignore it. Afterall we don't want critisize SOUP for being as crap as MCN in reporting the news, do we?

It's possible. The AMA are reorganizing the way they do things. They may be offering Hayden, Edwards, and the like, ungodly amounts of money to return home and race domestically. They bring plenty of sponsorship dollars with them.

If I were Hayden I wouldn't leave for anything less than double digit millions, plus ownership, and voting stake. I would also require a board position after I retire.

Huge risk.

The real question is whether or not big stars can get track owners to improve the venues or whether they can make the series competitive again.

Lex, are you kidding me, this is MigsA posts (perhaps you haven't noticed his usual MO of posts regarding Hayden on this site, but you may want to pay more attention)? Dude, where in the hell does this article imply anything like what MigsA is suggesting here??? This is only MigA creating a rumor out of thin air. Why would you bite on such a fabricated attempt to make something out of nothing? Not even the journalists here tried to sensationalize it with a juicy title to the article as seen on other sites where the title has lnothing to do with what it actually about. This is the quivalent of somebody like Pinky posting a thread after a reporter sees Rossi go into an ice cream store and then post a topic with the tag: Rossi seen at ice cream store, does he plan to quit MotoGP for new business? Yes, ....... stupid.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MigsAngel @ Jan 18 2008, 12:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Is preparing for his 2009 move back to AMA?
You may want to get a job for MCN. You have the talent to make a tag that has zero to do with the actual contents of an article. And by doing so, input a suggestion, and net a few not seeing it for what you are attempting.

Hahahah you fucktards how can you speculate about this? He was just on track for a closed Honda event. If he would go anywhere it would be wsbk....

I think in maybe 7-10 years, or whenever Nicky calls it a quits, but then, he wuold probably call it a quits on racing all together. Maybe run Baja and the replacement for Dakar, but other than that, sit at his parents home, the Earl Racing compound and drink beer and enjoy retirement.

i dont get where they dream up these things from, i really dont. Hayden isnt going go, what is effectively backwards, in his career. and i dont think motogp will let him leave, honda maybe, but come on, who's going to let a recent world champion go if he's in need of a ride. he's a hard worker and a bloody good rider. no 2007 comments please.

Nicky is a Honda guy, and I think he will stay there, like Mick Doohan, until he is done with racing. Nicky is probably number 3 as the best riders in MotoGP. Remember, this bike is the smallest road racing bike he has raced on. He's run Supersport, and Superbike, but both are street based bikes, which are much larger than the GP bikes of MotoGP. He took forever to adjust to, and still is adjusting.

yeah that would be Nicky's choice, but Honda will let him go if he doesnt improve on 2007. they love Dani because he's their title shot and there will be more talented riders coming along that honda will be only too happy to sign if their other rider is no longer competitive

but im not saying nicky wont be competitive again...

Don't blow my cover. Placating MigsA is my new super secret strategy.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Remember, this bike is the smallest road racing bike he has raced on.

Even if it's true, please don't type it. I can't handle another long winded bike tech speculation thread.

Really??

What about the AMA 600 Supersport title that he won?

I think that the 800cc's MOTOGP bikes will suit him just fine.

What?

He's right about the size. The bike is smaller but first of all, much narrower. The tank very narrow and the handlebars are very narrow, all adding to both the feel and look of of a small bike. Add to this honda's design goal for last year, making the bike for the "ideal" rider, being considerably smaller than Hayden and it is most likely that he have had some problems adopting.

i guess you've never actually seen a GP bike in person?

the only way Nicky is Leaving MotoGp is the way Biaggi went out....If he can't get a competitive ride.

I'm not even going to read the link because Soup and Dean Adams are a bunch of arrogant
shitheads.
If you know anything about Nicky he intends to compete at the highest level of motersports
for as long as he can.
Even if Honda dumped him this year as shown in the past the other factories are just lining up
to sign him.
Don't give me the scenarios that the other teams have no room for him because that is .........
He's a top 5 rider and will be treated as so.

Honda riders like to end up on Ducati's. And remember there was the rumor he was leaving there after 2006.

If Honda fired Nicky, which would be a black eye to the company, he would be picked up by the next biggest team. Yamaha would open a seat on their top team for him, Kawasaki would fire a rider to make room, Suzuki would as well. Nicky loves PR stuff and would seem to fit in at Ducati.

Pretty much if Nicky did get the boot from Honda, he would be just as wanted as if Rossi was looking for a ride.
