Its time Yamaha said .... off to the ...... Or if they won't let the mechanics take him out back and whack him with a big tuning fork.

Jarvis is just a figurehead...Uccio is the main man at Yamaha...he is the super organiser...i have noticed lately he always has a tissue tucked in his front right pocket to hand to Rossi when he sits down..

I think you're pulling my leg there, I can't see that Yamaha bosses would allow such an imbecile to run a team.

Was Marquez's ride through penalty a result of RD/marshals not following their own rules?

Yes. Kropo asked this question repeatedly; unfortunately he asked Marc rather than the actual people in charge of enforcing the rules.

I am not sure if I missed the thread, if it went under your radar or if you simply made selective information picking but 2 things

1) its all over the media’s in Spain that Márquez is called a traitor as he has officially blocked the access to HRC for Lorenzo, justification is that 2 strong leaders in the same Team is not good for the bike developments

2) Marc VDS moto2 and MotoGP truck have not arrived in Mugello

Cheers

Jorge was the only one who so far has stopped MM winning EVERYTHING since his arrival into the premier class....
Good point. If I were him I'd call Suzuki personally, and ask to write up a modest minimum salary and a weighted performance contract. It's his best and only hope to win races ever again.

No way should he touch a satellite Yamaha, Rossi influence means it will always be detuned and off current spec. Staying at Ducati means his stock will continue to plummet. He simply doesn't have good options. Suzuki could do well by picking up a bargain, a man desperate to prove himself.

If you live in a glass house don't throw rocks.

I personally think his best bet is Yamaha as it is a race winning machine, which we still do not know in Suzuki terms although maybe Lorenzo could be that missing element that turns the 'nearly there' into the 'here it is'. Mind you, I just do not see it (Suzuki) as being close.

Yes you may be right that he would experience issues with Yamaha but he knows that machine and I firmly suspect that if he were to go back he would be able to get a team that would go some way towards setting it up for him (physical limitations not withstanding).

Opinion only, and likely an unpopular one but he would have won those races that Zarco stuffed up ........

If the rumors of Monster willing to foot the bill are true, we might see J.Lo on a single Yamaha bike, kinda like Nastro Azzurro Honda.

The rumors are also saying the Monster money is only 2million euros...hardly enough to foot the bill for the whole team structure without yamaha and other sources to get the whole thing up and running....not to mention JLo not taking a salary for that time.....

I... I mean, Carmelo might pay the rest, he already helps out the satellite teams in many ways and he is apparently very keen to find J.Lo a ride.

True....but this would be a 'factory' team...and this forum hates when Carmelo helps riders get factory rides and bikes....

Seen that one myself ........ IMO but it is the most likely scenario where Lorenzo will remain with a level of control, which I tend to think he needs to regain his composure and standing.

Don't forget that JL has his personal sponsors and maybe, just maybe, a manufacturer may hang the lease costs given his past history with them knowing what he has to offer their brand.

He is not going to bring in millions of dollars as he simply is no Rossi and comes from a shared market so his value is less, but he has history which can buy priviledge

He has done it before so why not again but whether he would help to a satellite bike is the thing ............

I suspect that it would suit DORNA and uncle Caramello to have Lorenzo on a competitive machine in a sink or swim approach ............ as he did with Rossi's return, and Rossi swam.

You need to let it go Migs ............. let us not forget that uncle Caramello made the famous quote before Rossi hinted at his return to Yamaha and yes, it bent people out of shape as it kicked out another rider.

If JL were to go to a new team then no rider is unseated however it may be of interest in licence terms as it would require either a rule change (as DORNA have already alluded to were VR46 to want a team), or a team to disappear or lower their bike numbers.

If JL were to return and a rider lose the gig, then I would expect that if it were a top young rider there would be .... said but if it is an old head who has been there to long, little said.

The only way J.Lo can get his own bike is if VDS folds. That will still put Morbidelli and Luthi's future hanging in the balance.

Best case scenario is J.Lo getting a Team #99 bike or whatever, Morbidelli on a VR46 branded bike. Luthi will still be SOL. That's a shame, I have been a long term fan of him. Poor guy was just born in the wrong country.

The riders that might get displased by JLo could be Morbidelli, Luthi or both ....IF any of the Marc VDS Yamaha JLo team scenario rumor comes to pass....

I didnt think JLo had any other big personsal sponsor other than Monster.....who else is there?

The ideal scenario is Tech 3 goes to one rider, and JLo get the other seat on the grid....but that means he has to create the full team from scratch for himself....I just cant see that happening....

And there lay the rub ......... if VDS go then licences are available and Lorenzo nor DORNA look like pricks for unseating a rider, that falls to the failed team.

Maybe DORNA are fully planning on that very scenario.

Helmet and leathers, boots, gloves - they all add up.

Plus was there not watches?

If the cost of the bike is not involved that a few million would run you for a year, not to mention DORNA costs/

And of course all of this is assuming that there are no sponsors in the wings as there would have been businesses throughout the years who could not get involved with a team due to competing sponsorships so one never knows.

No matter what however, Jorge's salary will either need to be very low or nil if he is to setup his own team.

On the other hand, he could easily walk away from the sport but I do not see it as that then makes Rossi better than him as Ross went the Ducati path, failed and then came back competitively and given that I genuinely suspect that Jorge followed the Ducati path to one up Rossi, he will not leave the sport without having tried again.

Besides which, and despite what some think of him he does bring things to the sport.

As far as I know, Dorna covers travel expenses for the independent teams.
So J.Lo will have one less thing to worry about.

I don't think the watches, helmet and leather sponsorship would be enough to cover everyone needed to make a team work.....yamaha would have to cover bike, mechanics, techs, and the rest ....not to mention Jlos shrink and the rest of his entorage....
Pipe dream in my opinion....but I will wait and see

All true but at the same time we do not know the value of the sponsorships nor possible new supporters.

As for Yamaha I suspect that they would come to the party as for them, having the rider who has won their last three championships back on their equipment will be worth a fair bit of change no matter what people think of that rider.

JL back brings marketing potential in terms of 'returning to the best' type of activity which of course brings dollars and will by itself sell space as people want to associate given that it will be a big news item.

Just as Rossi's return bought an upside, so would JL's even though he may not have the personality, he will bring business and assuming that VR stays, he will again rekindle that publicity that comes with the JL v VR type of marketing. Mind you, how Vinales would cope with a loss of attention would be a side show of it's own.

Again, all hypothetical of course but a return has more benefits for Yamaha but whether they allow it or want it given the golden goose, well who knows
