I didn't think Rossi would do brilliantly at Ducati (the bike is just... weird. Or ....) but this is really turning into a bit of a mess. It's mugello and he'll be lucky to get a top 5.

Yeah toothy Spencer will get on it win 2 races a year and crash under pressure 8 times. Then become allergic to Colgate and go back to the farm until the remote control is fixed.

The congregation over at Crash.net is about to have a melt down. It has got so bad they seem to be talking in tongues and calling for the site administrator to shut down the comment section. They are really a sad bunch, it is beyond them how some can be so blasphemous while worship is in session.

It's not about speed.



The intention of seamless transmission is to conserve fuel which was HRC's main concern, but this has seemingly exacerbated the existing stability problems of the RCV in corner entry and under braking. Like I say it wasn't developed around speed or to derive a faster lap time - and confers perhaps a tenth max.



As I said earlier, certain members were oblivious to this fact at the start of the season when they maintained that the system was good for a second a lap and accounted for Casey's immediate superiority in lap times. One of these fanatical yellow zealots has completely disappeared after pledging to be at Silverstone, and another seems to have been permanently silenced - exhausted by Keshav's intransigence. The rest should largely evaporate or switch to Sic in a couple of seasons time.
 
rossi said himself it was good for 0.5 seconds.... yet he is slower than 3 of the other ducatis... hmmmm

And to put a perspective on it, from Krops forum by a poster who it would seem watched the entire episode somewhere (not just the short 17 seconds)



…I just re-watched the Thursday pre-event press conference. How did I miss it? (New extended cut?) In the first minute, as they all wait in the hallway before walking in and going on stage, Simoncelli turns and looks around the camera a few times (so he knows he’s on-camera) - then Dani comes up and shakes the hand of Spies congratulating him for the first win, when Simoncelli moves in, spins Dani around with extended hand (for the PR shot?), but Dani pulls his hands away abruptly in disgust. A brutal snub on camera; saying only (I think) “No thank you”.

Puts another perspective on it IMO as if the above is true then it was a 'show' apology and likely not genuine, unlike (again IMO) Simoncelli's comments after his Lorenzo incident, comments that looked and sounded genuine.
