Binned it -- When a rider crashes out of a race.
High side -- When a bike slides, catches traction and flips the rider.
Low side -- When one or both tires lose traction and the bike slides out from under a rider.
The "cc" in 800cc -- Size of the bike engine in cubic centimeters.
Chicane -- A track section with back-to-back turns or "S" curves.
Esses -- The phonetic spelling of back-to-back turns or "S" curves.
Hairpin -- A slow, sharp U-shaped turn.
Pucks -- The thick plastic discs that protect a rider's knees on those 60-degree turns.
Wheelie -- Just like on a bicycle, when a motorcycle's front tire rises.
Nose wheelie -- When the rear tire rises up from sharp braking.
Podium -- A top-three finish earns the rider a podium spot and a champagne-spraying celebration.
Slicks -- A tire made of a soft compound with no tread, designed for in-road racing.
