Check out the Spies interview on the podcast Motogpod from 12/4.

Best quote when asked about being Lorenzon's teammate next year "I can understand why people wouldn't want to be his teammate because he is so fast"

This interview reminded me of how awful the OTT guys. Motogpod much much better.

did ya get the bit bout the electronics? thats some ......... right there..

Ah yes, but i seem to recall its just about the best rider, right? So when we say look that guy is sucking, when infact his map is scripted to suck, its all right, right?
<

This .... is super complex, but most peeps dont realize it, then chalk up results as the end all to be all. So remind me again, those round black things, there only tires right???
<
Something like electronics, there only electronics right???

Its a mothafuka when u aint on the best ...., and a decided advantage when u are, but hey, dont ask me, ask Jesse Ventura.

I wish they would of asked him what his goals were for 2011, he usually has pretty good insight as to where he stands and what he is capable of (usually with a little downplay). I'm sure this will come out in another interview. Or have I missed somethig

The electronics bit was interesting. It's easy to see why satelite bikes are rarely going to beat the factory bikes and why he says the deck is stacked against them big time.

I agree on the OTT assessment however Jim Race needs to really work on the lisp whistle that he has going on. He does give a damn good interview though.

2 additional points of interest besides those mentioned for me were:

1. Spies not liking Rossi's set up at all. Obviously everyone sets up the bike differently but it would have been nice to get a layman description of the bias of Rossi's set up and how it differed to the bias of Spies set up.

2. Spies comments about the 'clown' performances of some riders when they win a race.

In laymans terms this would probably be as verbose as a small novel still.

I can't believe how some folk must percieve these bikes ........ they aren't like say an R1 on a showroom floor ( most of which never get touched either when they are purchased until they are sold on, some may get a "pipe" and folk think they have modified their bike
<
<
<
) GP bikes are like the ultimate concoction of top shelf aftermarket parts mixed with new technologies from both the manufacturer and "other parties". What one rder thinks of another riders setup ( or even specialised parts ) means ............ diddly
<
<
<
.

Most stock bikes I hop on have an instant list of just part adjustments to get me comfortable ....... these guys have that with almost every part on the bike ........ then their are the electronics ......... tyre pressures for one session alone they probalbly put more effort into than most folks R1's ever get in their whole life
