and i don't see that changing in 2008.

Lorenzo has a factory yamaha and Dovi has a crappy Honda with little support.

Bingo. That's why i'm going for Lorenzo, he has impressed me so far. I wish the roles were reversed though as I think Dovi is the better rider.

In motogo we will see which is best very shortly. But i dont think the HUGE difference between Lorenzo and Dovi in 250 is a representation of the differences in their bikes. The Arilia is obviously better overall, but Jorge schooling Dovi in areas where the Honda is better, and kicked all the other Aprilia riders even worse than Andrea.

True but Bautista beat lorenzo a couple times along with knocking him off the track

Also altho lorenzo was by far the best aprilla runner, the other aprilla's where capable of podiums.

the other honda's i can't say that.

Dovi and DeAngelis will give Lorenzo a surprise next year. Lorenzo won't walk all over the his fellow rookies like he did in 250's.

JToseland will be great at select tracks that suit the superbike riding style and those euro tracks that he has some race experience.

My overall pick is Dovi.

How does Westy play in the Rookie category. I still rate him as a rookie as he has not had a full year on the bike and did not have any real test time last year.

West wasn't a rookie this year, so this is not a lot to do with him.

Because he's already done a full year on a 500 in 2001.

For the umpteenth time.

The 500 is not a 4 stroke 800cc...
Ant West = Rookie

So working by that logic, Stoner was the rookie of the year.

Anyway, it's going to be hard to bet against Lorenzo if he can keep a cool head. He's sitting next to Rossi, if you keep a low profile, Rossi's Yam pitbox is a good place to pick up a few tips.

Don´t really know about that, after all Rossi is on bridgestones and there is a wall between the boxes. No more pre-race handshakes I fear. Also Lorenzo is spanish and some spaniards have an intolerable hatered of Rossi (just watch there comentatores or sit in the stands in Estoril). Of course I am generalizing here but sometimes in Europe country issues are a problem.

My vote is going to Dovi 100%, I too think he is the better rider and I´m hoping that 2008 will prove it for him.....but then again I´m a fan and not even trying to be objective!

hmmm... I see... Yes.. Yes he was..

And this year was Ant west's first year on an 4 stroke in the top class. Next year will be his first full season on a 4stroke in the top class.

I was just wondering, Duc999, why Ant West wasn't Rookie of the Year in 2007, then? If we apply your standards as to what defines a rookie, surely he should have been, right? After all he scored 59 points, and the guy who was Rookie of the Year, Guintoli, only managed 50...

Guess that means Rossi should get another trophy, too, for being Rookie of the Year in 2002?
