My partner has been really confused with all the musical chairs, rider changes and new teams for 2017, so much so that she actually made a chart to show where everybody is going ... typical school teacher.

Not bad. Nice to see your favourite rider back from WSBK.

The entire paddock is a buzz with excitement for Karel returning, the series just wasn't the same without him. He isn't on a factory ride but i don't think that will be enough to stop his natural talent and determination, except to see this guy fighting for the win.

Fixed it for you

I think Suzuki are really kicking themselves that they rushed and signed Rins so early.

He maintains that his dip in form has been due to focussing on the challenges ahead, which is absurd. When the same questions about his less than impressive finish to the season was levelled at Lowes he didn't look for any excuses, blamed himself (as usual), and gave the assurance that as a Gresini rider his sole focus lay in the Moto2 championship.

I'd quite like to seen Dovi on the Zook and Ianonne remaining at Ducati.

Nice to see Karel back, maybe I'll break my rule of not favouring one rider.

So signing to Suzuki is why he maintained the same sort of success he had last year? Hmmmm

Suzuki signing Iannone was a win for them but they must be kicking themselves for letting go of Aleix over Rins now.

Agree on Ianonne, I'm a bit of a fan and find him to be a fun explosive rider to watch. I think he will do well on the Suzuki, but the huge power of the Ducati has certainly helped him reel in the competition and get results this season, especially noticeable in the last 2 rounds.

I think they where so eager to sign a rider early in fear of missing out that they made a gamble on Rins based on his 2 wins early in the season. 20/20 hindsight is a great thing but they would have been better off just waiting for the end of the season before signing someone. Morbedeilli or Luthi would have been better choices than Rins.

Suzukis are ready to go

And so are Maverick's Yamahas

And the bike everyone is waiting for

Iannone decided to do it in style

Oh my. Vinales is already top of the table. I think we all knew he would be quick. But this early? Looks like Rossi's got one helluva teamate to contend with.

Also Iannone looks to be warming up to the Suzuki pretty quickly.

First session in and Lorenzo's already quite a bit quicker than Pirro. Things are looking less ominous than many would think.

I'm really excited for next year's season! :cold:

Here's an onboard of the RCV from the race weekend with Marquez...

Here's the video they posted on Facebook of the onboard today...

Engine notes are completely different. Sounds like a big bang in the 2017 bike. The power delivery is far more predictable. Doesn't sound like it's running out of power at the top end either. Engine is much smoother coming out of the final corner onto the start/finish straight. Early indicators are this is another winner of an engine from Honda. Only Marquez knows for certain, but my feeling is when he twisted the throttle, he knew it was a championship winner instantly.

Agree JPS, though I prefer the sound of the screamer! That said, nothing will ever beat the Ducati 800 screamer for sound.

I was relieved to see Lorenzo was smiling after his first few runs, and her certainly looks to be attacking the track more than Rossi did on his Ducati debut. He's 6/10 off the top, so I see that as encouraging.

Maverick and Lorenzo surprised me. Honda didn't seem too invested today. The new guys did a good job, specially tech3 boys. Lowes not so much. Iannone did a great job and that crash looked pretty bad. KTMs better but still quite far.

New RCV motor sounds good, hope it works for Dani.
Why are Ducati still using wings? All their times will suffer when the ban comes in.

Agreed, the screamers do sound great, but the new engine sounds slightly reminiscent of the V5. Thoughts Arrab?

I don't put much stock in him being 6 tenths off right now as this was just purely a benchmarking/shakedown session. Still his gap was better than Rossi's 2010 Valencia test. Looked very comfortable on the bike otherwise, and the bike looked very smooth in his hands.

Lorenzo used the GP16 today for benchmarking purposes.

GP17 will be tomorrow.

Helps to give him an understanding of where Ducati is at with the machinery.
