That glass might be half full. Sure, the RC213V-RS is behind a seas of RCV1000Rs, but it's still up there in the mix with the lower spec prototypes. So if they sold it on the street, you know that you are getting at least a GP capable machine right off the bat for a fraction of the cost, and not something loosely based on a GP bike like the D16RR was but at a premium price. After all, for all of its fancy tech the D16 was still reported to be slower than the 1098R. If the V-RS is keeping up with the other prototypes, even if it's towards the back, there's no way a super sport should be able to hold a candle to it.


If they play it right, that might actually be a clever piece of marketing.
