......., irrelevant question.  For what it's worth I thought all the riders handled it well. They didn't let it bother them or make a big deal about it, which is the way it should be

I thought it's quite an interesting question actually. Why are there no openly gay riders?


 


I'm a bit suprised that all of them reacted with "EHHHH, I'M NOT A ....! blah blah, respect...ehhhh BUT I'M NOT A ....! REALLY. I'M NOT!". It's like the paddock got stuck in the 1950's in some ways.
 
How did you expect them to react? How would you react? Me? I would have said "I'm married but I don't have a problem with it" which is what most them did albeit in a very awkward way

I think any queer rider would perceive coming out as an admission of 'weakness,' something to be avoided at all costs in such a competitive sport.


 


Yea, Cal comes across as somewhat of a caveman - no real surprise!  ;)


 


Too bad Colin wasn't there.  (Or maybe we all got lucky?  Cal + Colin might have produced some cringe-worthy quotes.)

Fair point in view of the many countries who now recognise marriage for same ... couples.

Acutally I did, I suppose I was being to subtle about it. Can you take a guess at the intention of me questioning you, rhetorically, why it would matter whether you are married?
