Since we never had a Silverstone thread - I'm making the San Marino thread while I remember.


 


It will be interesting to see how the Redding/Espargaro balance will be when we get the SM. If Pol can't fight back, the writing will not just be on the wall, it'll be underlined in thick black ink.
 
U mean we are not going to continue making individual rider threads?

I got a big black marker pen ready to draw that line.


From what I heard, Scotty was quite prepared to finish 3rd, 4th, 5th or 20th as long as it was one place higher than Pol.


The guy is thinking WC. Nothing stupid required now.

I presume we'll continue making whatever threads people decide to make. It's not exactly like this forum is drowning in new threads and impossible to keep up with.
 
Taka Naka looking very strong this weekend, I hope he can pull off a race win tomorrow :) Also Redding has looked quicker than the cry baby until this morning, so hopefully he will finish ahead or right behind him either way will do perfectly 
 
....... commentators talking like Redding gettjng duffed up by Zarco as some sort of strategy....
 
Yet another second place for Nakagami.


 


Redding had better bounce back from this in Spain. Ten points lost is more than Esparagaro needs per race to easily beat Redding.
 
This race result hurt. No not cuz Redding had a bad day at the office, not even because Espargaro got the win, but because I was rooting fir Nakagami to win an emotion sparking race win to honor Tomizawa. I know he paid his respect, and it was done classy, I just wish he got the win for it.

Nakagami is probably thanking his lucky stars in regards to Espargaro & Redding moving up to MotoGP next year.  He can't take another 2nd place.  Poor guy's head probably going to explode.

He has the speed and pace to beat either, just hasnt figured out tire management. When he does, Redding & Esfagoro will be happy they're gone.

He is pretty much in the place that Redding was in last year where he was burning his tyres a bit too much. He'll get a win before the end of the year I think.
 
Stressful watching Taka repeatedly lose that top podium spot. Reminds me of Sykes not so long ago on the Kawasaki. Really depressing.

Haha I had similar thought. Yeah however I'd say in Sykes case the Kawasaki electronic package was more to blame. They switched (as I recall) to Marelli and things improved. Nakagami just needs to learn tire management. Will be cool to see him score a win eh.
 
If Nakagami doesn't win this season it will be an even bigger waste than if Crutchlow doesn't win this season. At least Crutchlow can say he is on a satellite bike as an excuse, Nakagami should be able to win but keeps ....... up massively in the latter half of the races. I doubt the tires are being destroyed, since other riders were saying they could've ran way more laps on those tires. I think he just loses a lot of confidence when the bike starts to get loose, and needs to work on improving in that area. It's just a damn shame that he can pull such incredible gaps in the early stages and then lose them so quickly towards the end. I hope he gets a ride in MotoGP soon. He's Japanese and very good, and deserves a shot on a prototype. I think he will be Pedrosa's replacement at Repsol Honda in 2015. And then in 2015 Pedrosa can go to Ducati, who will finally get their .... together followed by Cructhlow winning the title as his teammate, and Pedrosa will be runner up AGAIN.
 
In the last few races, I don't think Nakagami has been '....... up', it's just that the competition is fierce. Redding had a boost at Silverstone, and desperation in the championship appears to have spurred Espargaro onto his San Marino victory. A series of second places isn't bad at all. Surely over the last few races Nakagami will have out-scored everyone else in the championship.
 
It looks to me like Nakagami is great on fresh tyres, but not so good on worn. Much like Redding was last year.


 


Redding learned to preserve his tyres and stop slinging the back out in every corner and it has done wonders for his game.
