Damn, Moto2 looks to be a tight in 1st practice. Nice to see Noyes back in the top10, but I guess that goes without saying since he's technically a home boy.

1. Debon (FTR) 1min 44.419sec
2. Talmacsi (Speed Up) +0.461s
3. Noyes (Promoharris) +0.501s
4. Takahashi (Tech 3) +0.558s
5. Gadea (Pons Kalex) +0.743s
6. Hernandez (BQR) +0.780s
7. Simon (RSV) +0.810s
8. Corti (Suter) +0.932s
9. Luthi (Moriwaki) +0.933s
10. Cluzel (Suter) +0.965s

I'm rooting for Noyes & Elias. Kenny looks good sitting in a top ten but what's going on with Elias?

Thanks for making a separate thread buddy. I don't like when they lump moto2 .... in with the motogp bigs.

Three threads a weekend? owwwww man.

As I said in the other thread, Hernandez was riding the wheels of that bike. He is makeing me a fan.

well the Moto2 thread might get a little more attention with new bikes, players etc. Three threads won't be that bad, this one will wind up at the bottom really quick after Sunday, but that won't mean it wasn't one hell of a race!

Please, anybody but Debon.

I'm not usually in the business of rooting against people (unless it's Pedrosa circa 2006-2008), but I'll make an exception for Debon.

I really don't have a dog in the Moto2 class, I'm just a fan of the new format. The bikes are pretty boring but the organizational model and the openess of the class are really interesting. It will be interesting to see how things shake out b/c I really believe that a rider with some skill and a bit of entrepreneurial spirit can be a Moto2 specialist and own and operate their own team. The 80/20 relationship between bike and rider means the riders should be getting much larger sums of money than they currently receive. Imo, Moto2 is about the only class with a reasonable price tag that gives the riders access to the machinery they need to win (traditionally machinery has been under lock and key from the manufacturers).

I guess Noyes is as good a rider to root for as any, though, I would certainly like to see Elias do well. He's 13th right now, that ain't gonna cut it.

Sarcasm doesn't seem to translate well around here lately.

So true bud. Bring this MF on!

simone or elias for the win.... tomizowa top 5 & still leadin the championship.

Where are these Japanese kids coming from?

Simone looks pretty good, but he's too green to take the win in a field this deep, imo.

I'd like to say Elias has the experience to take this one down, but I'm afraid that quite a few people will not survive the first corner so it's difficult to make a prediction.

I have a feeling Debon is going to do something really really stupid tomorrow.

Yea that was a brilliant race! Just like the middle weight classics that Jerez has produced in the past! It's great that so many people can compete at the moment, Noyes was so impressive on the brakes, and Tomizawa looked pretty solid too despite being looser than those around him. I wonder if he's the real deal or if a few of the more established names will leapfrog him when they get decent setups sorted. I struggle to see anyone but Elias winning the championship but its a long season and there is plenty of time for contenders to materialize yet.

Amazing race. Really happy to see Elias take this one home. Debon did do something stupid, but he didn't take anyone out! It's a miracle.

Looks like the championship is already shaping up to be a two horse race. I know there is still tons of racing left, but Tomizawa and Elias have got a double digit gap on the guys behind. It will be interesting to see if any of the guys in the 20pt range can mount a charge and start taking it to the front runners.

Never would have thought Tomizawa would have two really strong showings. He did get bailed out by a red flag that he needlessly caused, but after the race restart he went really well until the mistake at the end of the back straight.

I think with bike development and such a busy racetrack full of people trying to make their name we'll most likely see a fair amont of inconsistency. I wouldn't be surprised if riders currently 30 points back didn't find themselves in contention later. How consistent can Elias be, and more importantly can he go a whole season without missing races due to injury?

Good one. Yeah, I agree, Noyes was awesome.

This was an a outstanding race. How any of you were at the edge of your seat for most of the race only to stand up at home, or wherever you were, for the last laps? That was freaking amazing!

I'm rooting for Toni the Tiger for the title, I want to see him back where he belongs--MotoGP. But I'm also pulling for Kenny Noyes, and today he showed us why he belongs. I gotta give kudos to Toni for wanting Noyes to get on his back wheel to strategically draft away from the field. Toni is a good guy and I like him for that. Noyes either didn't understand or didn't want to play along, but I think it cost him a podium today. But thrills he did give us, and that was a sight to see. What a scrap!

This 19 year old Japanese kid is the buisness. ......., eh, great ride by him despite his bike wanting to buck him off in protest. Reminded me of Casey's Ducati and Casey saying FU to his bike while pulling back the throttle.

I've seen plenty of races, but this one is gonna go down as a classic. Moto2 is a big success!!!

The race was awesome. I really enjoyed the dices at the end. This class is definitely going to keep you on the edge of the seat until the very last race.

Moto2 shows how good alot of the guys really are. Normally it is all down to who is riding which bike. Now it is all about the rider/setup.

Awesome awesome race..

Can't wait for Lemans

Congrats to Elias. He probably would have won by three seconds had he a some rear view mirrors on his bike!
