Hi all, new to the site after much searching for a decent site to post on thats all about bikes and more bikes.. just booked up for San Marino in September for general admission 2 at the track, im going on race day only...call me a cheap skate but ive had a mate pull out so ended up paying for the whole thing myself and also im a cheap skate!!lol anyhnow sure it will be the trip of a lifetime as ive never been abroad to watch a race, wondered if any of you guys had any ideas what the race track is like over there in san marino and whether it was worth cashing in on the cheap seats. it seemed that inb the grandstand once you were at your seat (or step) thats where you were staying for the duration of the day as it gets pretty much jam packed and you cant leave the grandstand after getting in. i hope the gen admin will be a bit more footloose and fancy free.

like i say its going to be tyop banana anyhow, and the missus is slowing becoming as yellow as me!! (46 GOAT)

San Marino is 'different'....we had grandstand seats, and were permitted to wander everywhere on Friday/Saturday, however, on race day you entered through your specific gate and were not allowed to walk around through/to other areas. There are less vendors inside the circuit vs. say Mugello and some are not the same in every area (so if you wanted to wander over to Suzuki on Sunday, you were out of luck as we couldn't leave our specified section). Not sure how the General Admission tickets work, but you may be limited to wandering around the "general admission" areas only....

It's a different atmosphere than any other GP i've been to....less chaotic. Still a blast, though!

Hi

We went last year and going again this year! General admission 2 is a good spot except for the lack of cover if it is sunny, which is the same for most of the areas, unless you get a covered grandstand.Take something decent to sit on as the grass is like sitting on glass. There is no walking around the track like in the UK, each section is not linked to the other areas. General 2 has good facilities, a good selection of food stalls & memoriabilia.

We go on the Sunday into Brutapela, this is VR fan clubs stand and it is a sea of yellow on the day. Last year we all got given VR flags to wave and at the end of the race they open the gate to allow the Brutapela stand lot onto the track. It is cramped in the stand, and there is nothing there cept food, toilets and join the VR fan club stand ;-)
