The numbers are spread over the 3 day weekend.
Race day attendance is still lacking.

In austin, F1 has bleachers almost all around the track, motogp only has turn 1, 12-15.

Not really fair to compare with F1... Attendance numbers ARE making a come-back, and places like Sepang have doubled attendance over the last 5 years. Core Euro audience is more-or-less stable ATM.

This being only in person attendance its not bad....then you account for television audiences in all markets and makes for fairly decent figures all around for Dorna....

If we want to make comparisons then we have to find figures for the 'golden' 500 era in the early to mid-90s to see if MotoGP is in a bad state....

I agree with Povol GPs are at an all time high....and they will only grow as they move into more markets....and as MotoAmerica kicks off with a TV deal in 2015...

Another installment of 'Povol Conclusions' (™). Pov is trying to make the simpleton point: the product on the grid is great because...hey look its popular. Nothing to do with the modern hyper-sophistication of marketing, gentrification of sport, effects of staple propaganda, contrivance of the formula--GP, CRT, Factory2, Production Racer (for which Povol is currently boycotting such artificial machinates) and the proliferation of social media and its effects on popularity.

2+2=22 Povol Math(™) Thanks for pointing out the meaningless "average attendance" in your post. Spain alone accounts for 700,000 plus of this genius, 'oh look, Spanish stacked-deck GP is popular in Spain...wowzy'.

Btw Dr. Prof. Povol MD-Phd BS, scientist and FOX investigative journalist, I realize every thought that stumbles in your mind must seem like it deserves it own thread, but your point here could have easily been stuffed into the thread (which you started) that "proved" MotoGP's popularity because...well a thread about its popularity had been started; by you.

Whenever I read Povols posts I picture him as Foghorn Leghorn and Jumkie as Chicken hawk

Best of Foghorn Leghorn - YouTube

If anyone could relate to a Chicken Hawk, it would be our resident pervert JohnnyPantsDown.

Chicken Hawk = A middle aged gay man who stalks and preys on young men usually in their teens and early twenties. Come to think of it, the way Jumkie stalked Nicky, hmmm, you may be right Johnny.

There are some stale markets - which are not growing, and some fresher markets which are...

Dorna's marketing has been resoundingly .... - hardly hyper-sophisticated! Gentrification and contrivance of formula and the same, no? If not the result is the same!! Also hardly think social media nerds are now turning to MGP in droves!! In fact your average moto-gearhead is probably one of the least affected by hyper-sophisticated marketing, gentrification and social media.

New markets are maturing and peeps have some spare cash again... I think the answer is simpler than you make out Jum.
