Shame, I was looking forward to seeing how he went. I've heard Cardion Racing are skint and can't afford to pay for any more crashes.

Michael van der Mark has ruled himself out of making his MotoGP debut this weekend at Assen despite speculation he was set to fill in for the injured Karel Abraham.

According to Dutch website Racesport.nl the 22-year-old, who claimed two WSBK podiums for Pata Honda at Assen this year and will be teaming-up with Casey Stoner and Takumi Takahashi for the Suzuka 8 Hours, was “almost certain” to replace the injured Abraham at his home event.

However, the Honda rider has confirmed via Twitter he will not be racing this weekend at Assen despite making himself available to the team.

Abraham suffered a foot injury last time in Catalunya leaving him unfit to ride his Open class Honda. His AB Motoracing team is yet to name his official replacement with just two days until free practice one of the Dutch GP on Thursday.

The current narrative is who pays for crash damage. Sounds like bollox
My guess is MVDM doesn't have the cash.
