Been reading this forum for several years now and decided to post this as my very first! Didn't know if this belonged in "other motorsports" or here. So, be easy on me for the first time! I saw that no one posted this yet. Thanks for looking!

Seven-times Formula 1 World champion Michael Schumacher has proved he is almost as expert on two wheels as four after a podium finish on his motorcycle racing debut.

The 39-year-old German was third on a Honda Fireblade in a cup race on the 4.5km Pannonia Ring in western Hungary on Good Friday

2007 German Superbike championship winner Martin Bauer won.

The German received some tips from former 500 GP rider Randy Mamola before climbing on to the bike. He had impressed 2007 MotoGP World champion Australian Casey Stoner last November.

Schumacher said he still preferred four wheels to two and was reported to have been very nervous before the race.

"I only did it for fun," he said. "I prefer driving." - Sapa-AFP

Welcome to the forum. Great first post! Impressive to get third. I guess it goes to show you have to have balls the size of watermelons to race bikes

Since the track is not far from where I live there is some more stuff about Schumy on Panonia if somebody is interested (sorry about my broken English

Beside Meky and Bauer there were also few other or ex IDM racers, (the guy in 4th place FIM STK 1000 Superbike series racer) personally I think Schumy performance 2:01:xx was not bad at all! Considering it was only 5°C on that day (the race pace of Meklau in IDM 1:55:xx - in ideal conditions+full superbike trim of motorcycle) and that Schu rode only slightly modified CBR1000 on his first time on Panonia…well this is nuff impressive for me

I didn't look at number one. I heard "3" and looked there.
