I'm taking a serious point here that maybe Rossi not being the dominant force is good for us the fans?

How many of us would have liked if Rossi would have stayed at Honda and won from 01-06?

With these new talents coming through from WSBK and 250 maybe we have new superstars in the making? I'm sure none of you thought in Rossi's rookie year that he would go on to become a 5 time champ...I didn't think Stoner would..but his form suggests that he might.

He's the same as Rossi, crashy rookie year and flashes of brilliance, and now look where he is in his second year.

Discuss.

I think Rossi not dominating is very good news for the sport, but i also think that it will be a sad day when he quits, so i want his to stay competitive as long as possible.

You guys are hilarious. ...., I'm still hoping my guy Hayden will make a comeback and contend in the end; however, Rossi gets a respectable 6th place, 2nd in the championship, and one win already under his belt, and you are ready to throw in the towel? Haha. As far as I'm concerned, I don't give one fly rats ... about whether he dominates or not, I’m not rooting for him. But the truth is, he is still the guy to beat. It just so happens, that Stoner is beating him at the moment. I love Ducati, I own two of those bad boys, so I don't mind if the brand chalks up a championship due to Stoner's brilliance. Do I think its good for the sport? Yes! Hayden and a few others, like Elias, showed that he is just a man, like everybody else. And I believe this has inspired others to challenge his ... and take it to him, but I'm not counting him out just yet.

He is certainly not an under dog. He has everything, the best .... possible. Even the officials turn a blind eye when he ..... up. No, he's not an under dog.

may
And the word underdog was used as an association with the one not most likely to win: Stoner is increasingly heading towards most likely to win.

Well, Stoner is leading, but as tom and jumkie are saying, Rossi is still the man to beat. I bet the bookmakers still have Rossi on top. It will only take one DNF of stoner and the fight is very close.
But this discussion seem familiar. Ah, it was one year ago, except very few thought that Hayden leading the CS ment much. We all know how that ended.

Right now with Mugello and Catalunya comming up it looks like Stoner have the upper hand and might expand his lead.

Correction: Rossi is the girl to beat

of course rossi not dominating is a good thing! motogp is a hell of a lot more exciting now

its true though evry rider will fall off eventually just look at elias and stoner will fall off eventually

and rossi will catch up and close the points gap

Competition is always good for the sport, look at F1 this year. Everyone was moaning when Schumi left saying it wouldn't be the same, but look at it now, four way battle for the title (although they still don't overtake

Yeah things have opened up and it does make the sport better for the average fan. Things are very different when such a massive name leaves, but new stars tend to emerge reasonably quickly, and in F1 particularly i think in a year or so we will know for sure who is the next big thing.

We hope, but if FA wins a third then props to him, and whichever Ferrari driver fills MS's shoes would make a big impact.
