Matt Oxley article: Could 2017 be Rossi’s year?

Yes 2017 very well could be VR's year, it remains to be seen how Lorenzo and the Desmosedici match up.

It also remains to be seen what the RCV will look like in 2017. If that bike is performing anywhere near the way it did 2 or 3 years ago, Marquez will walk away with the title. Even this year, if they figure something out with the electronics, the season will turn on a dime.

But this made me lol

He will be 38 years old next year, but he still runs on the elixir of youth, like a petrol-head Peter Pan. His long-time mechanic Alex Briggs (who’s been with VR since November 1999) believes Rossi has discovered “the fountain of youth by racing all the kids at his ranch.”

Now we know why he dumped his girlfriend. He needed to suck off all those kids he races to gain more testosterone.

Which is all very well until they start beating him on track...

Could 2017 be Rossi?s year? | Motor Sport Magazine

I said it here just last week that 2017 was going to be Rossi's best chance at another title for all the reasons in the article. From Rossi having less competition in camp, to the unpredictable Ducati and if Honda gets it right. I swear i beleive some of these journalist get their content from their readers and are just more adept at putting it to pen.

Oxley has made a living in rossi's arse crack. Pretty sad existence and writes utter drivel

I already said before Lorenzo's move to Ducati, Dorna's fairytale title will arrive one way or the other. All of Rossi rivals compete in a hostile series. "I don't care at all about the booing." This is the message by the League's CEO, the message is, he only cares about Rossi. This has far reaching implications, as this man has the power and incentive for a windfall. It's why he brokered the deal to coerce Yamaha Marketing to override the racing team's desire not to work with Rossi, because the deal has paid off massively.

Can anyone here imagine Carmelo saying of one of Rossi's grievances, I don't care at all about Rossi’s complaint? This is the man who shielded Rossi by ordering on all points gag on the media so poor Rossi could concentrate on the finale.

What amazes me most is that it happens so obviously in the open, like FIFA's corruption, so brazen, that we've become desensitized. 08, Rossi ONLY gets Bridgestone, goes on to "win" a title, nobody questions the legitimacy. Rossi is ushered by at Yamaha, becomes competitive again, hey, all the riders get an equal chance at the record books. Bridgestone is replaced by that old friend Michelin, everyone is on the same tires right?

Lorenzo will find it extremely difficult to be a contender next year. This is the effect of the hostile environment Rossi creates and is overwhelmingly supported by Dorna. Rossi has a 50/50 chance next year. One small injury or another Honda off year, it's Rossi's "title" to lose. The rigging is so obvious and brazen. Not only is Dorna in on it, but so is the chickenshit media. Keeping Rossi in his comfort zone. Meanwhile, these "journalists" rubbish Lorenzo because he wasn't funny or lighthearted enough when talking about Dorna "theatrically" assigning him a bodyguard. Or that "journalists" who asked Marc and Jorge about the extra security, but failed to ask Rossi about it who was literally sitting next to Lorenzo. These guys not only have to fight against Rossi on the track, but the entire ....... paddock, league, "journalists", spectators, and in Lorenzo's case, even his own cowardly employer.

Let me tell you what this "article" is about. Right now Rossi fans are discouraged, having suffered through The Great Mugello Disappointment, they are lost emotionally, wondering through the wilderness. This is dangerous for Dorna, because discouraged fans means less audience. They can't afford the Yellow Hordes to tune out feeling like this year is a lost cause, they need HOPE! Right now that points deficit is a clear and present danger to viewership. If you read the reactions of the Minions, they are discouraged, distraught, they are in need of a reason to tune in!

Mat Oxley to the rescue, buck up, keep your chin up, Dorna will deliver next year. His piece is such an obvious appeal to: stay the course Rossi Fan. He even throws them the bone, Rossi is not out of it even this year, but alas, NEXT year is ours!

In my best Braveheart voice:

"FREEDOM!"

Rossi’s chains will come off next year!

What bothers me about these Rossi love pieces Oxley churns out, is that he does it for Motorsport Magazine, a publication I genuinely love.

If this was being done for Crash.net it'd be a non-issue to me.

But to think this guy is writing for the same publication that employed the late, great, Denis Jenkinson is a ....... abomination.

Please tell me that guy isn't crying over Rossi's engine going south.
Where did you find that? I must see more.

Could 2017 be Rossi’s year? As long as he rides it can be his year but so can be marq's, lorenco's, vinales's maybe even pedrosa's year :)

Dorna is probably hard at work with Michelin at this very moment to get a softer carcass tire to explode in FP1 at Catalunya so it can be removed from competition. Then announcing the harder tire will be used for the rest of the year.;);)

Either that or somebody stole his VR46 baseball cap,"There,There,my baby,we can always get you another one',"But mummy, they've sold out'.
