Even though im not a Mladin fan,he gained my respect yesterday. While leading he had a wicked high speed high side. After tumbling forever he came to a stop and was grabbing at his leg in agony. They red flagged the race and his team somehow got his bike back in the pits, stripped it down and started putting new plastics on it.When they fired it up,it was hung wide open so off comes the tank and clean the rocks and sand out of the throttle system.Mladin pops out of the ambulance, jumps on the bike not knowing if that throttle thing is fixed and takes his spot on the restart at the back of the grid.He finishes 4th,minimizing the point damage since Spies won both legs over the weekend. It was pretty good stuff. As usual the Zooks dominated and made the race boring except for Mladins heroics.

Mat's a deadset legend. Wish he coulda proved himself in the premier class, but he's made a great career in the US. Hope he can take 1 more title before he retires, but Spies is obviously pretty good.

I have thought about that many times. Will he retire if he comes up short again this year and it becomes obvious that he is racing for second.Or does he wait for Spies to move on so he can become the big fish again.I dont think his ego would allow him to come back knowing Spies was still around.
