Jumkie.... your hootin' and hollarin' of Hayden being damned by everyone up to and including his mother is getting very annoying. This isn't even a Hayden thread, so keep your Kentucky Squid out of it. Every thread I swear has a mention of this bottom tier racer in it, and for what? Jumkie, you would probably make a helluva damn good progranda radio announcer if you were a citizen of Germany during WW2 with half the shiit you spew.

Face it. He's nothing more then a fluke champion, a marketable sub-par American motorcycle racer who has had the best equipment at his disposable through-out his career, but has under-perform considerably given his package. Honda knows it, Ducati knows it, heck everyone who's ever watched MotoGP knows it. Why did you even think right when Dani came in, Honda changed their direction building a bike towards Pedrosa? Little Dani came in his first year and as far as I'm concerned SPANKED Hayden in every which way...... deffinately was the better rider, even when Hayden won his gifted championship with a mere 2 victories. Haydens a joke of a rider, always has been. That smile can fool other's, deffinately not me.

What an intelligent and well thought out post.

Can you please put a picture of a penguin as your avatar? That way we can tell who the really clever guys are.

Thanks

Regardless of individual personalities, all these guys at the top are insanely fast and have massive balls.

I have said before, I give Pedro massive dibs. The guys is smaller than most 13 year old girls, and rides a 250 hp moster to within an inch of its life every time he gets on, sometimes in the wet, and is under massive pressure to perform - to the point that he isn't scared to risk being unloaded at warp speed (by comparrison - I'm .... scared of faling of stationary at the traffic lights).

Pedro is a shy kid, who's probably been picked on most of his childhood for being small. He gets into bike racing, and suddenly he's a superstar and has people like Puig and Repsol looking after him, but also telling him what to do.

Pedro probably didn't know how to act with the media (a bit like Stoner, and others), and in the early days (about the same time as .... blew up with NH) came off looking like a .....

I actually think, if you got to know Pedro, he would be very introverted, but not a bad human being. (Puig not so much)

Bottom line, one on one, Pedro is probably a faster rider than Nicky, and would probably be faster than Nicky on most bikes, but in saying that, Nicky got royally screwed by Honda whilst being world champ, and whilst I believe that sits largely in the hands of Puig and Repsol, it was Pedro that was seen as the one screwing Nicky. Pedro was the new golden child (for Spain), and therefore there was huge motivation for all of Puig, Ezpeleta, and Repsol (and therefore Honda), to see him rise to the top, regardless of the consequences.

From the outside, seems like Puig has done a lot to help Pedro, but he has also put him through a lot of crap.

It seems like Nicky is one of the real standup people in MotoGP, who is genuinely happy every day that he gets the chance to race bikes. It is a shame that in the business world of sport, that doesn't count for much.

I would really love to see NH have a boomer year in 2012 on the 1000cc Duc, but unfortunately as no. 2 to aother powerbroker, his chances are limited.

Agree with Jum, damn good post Nuts.

Ok, can we all get back on topic? Hahahaha.

I just read this by Julian Ryder:

The progress of Mark Marquez in Moto2 has been nothing short of startling, but I can't avoid the feeling that if—oh, pick a name—Marco Simoncelli had banged into Bradl on the third corner, chopped across the front of de Angelis after passing him and thrown the same rider a hook on the straight then race Direction might have something to say about it.

Your thoughts?

All the 'treated like ....' part is your own man-love of Hayden, poor Nicky, he has been on the most prestigious teams in all of motorcycle racing with one decent season to show for it - he was wronged! Poor .......... Pedrosa's manager worked to get him support as managers will do - and Pedrosa happens to have a powerful manager (who also happens to be an .......). Hayden's manager, er, who is Hayden's manager? Earl?

I think you should have directed these remarks towards Rossi and his fans. Rossi was the world champion who got everything he wanted, but who decided to leave when he felt under-appreciated by Honda's management (or so the story goes).

Despite a long-running narrative from former champions about mistreatment by Honda's engineering division, who allegedly have a sick obsession with changing the bike at every available opportunity, the peanut gallery is keen to remind Haydenettes that Hayden is the one rider who was never mistreated by Honda. It is the most perplexing hypocrisy in MotoGP.

I did notice that when Hayden didn't get updates it was criminal, when he did it was criminal that they expect him to test during the season.

I think he is suggesting there is generally inconsistency in the race direction. I would take this more as the simoncelli incident being poorly handled than the Brno race, nobody really thinks it was anything other than hard racing. The issue really is that Marco Simoncelli was punished for his reputation rather than his actions, but we've covered this before

Marquez chops across DeAngeles in response to DeAngeles's bash into him a corner or two before. I'm not sure if it was in the international feed, but on the TVE we had images of Marc's leathers with a big tire mark along his right armpit area down the back of his upper arm. The five leading that race are the roughest riders there. All of them are know fairing bashers. Marquez learnt last year riding hard with Pol Espargaro in the 125. Great hard racing in Brno.

For a person who claims he's been watching the sport since the 80s, you really didn't learn much. Have you been following the sport in braille?

Get off it already, I mercifully changed the subject back to Marquez for you, as I was starting to pity you rather than enjoy the non-debate.

What the hell are you talking about now?

I think I could safely say that I understand the game quite well. The fact that everyone knows you in this forum does not make you a great racing mind - even if you believe that you are.

This thread is exhausting to read.....

I'm not singling anyone out either.....just saying

For the record, Jumkie's my boy!! but, I'm all about the Peders doing well. I kinda like the guy and I think he's got far more heart than he's generally given credit for.

I've been waiting for you to save me from this thread.

Btw, I went back to edit my previous post. Memories of sitting in Arrabi's livingroom made me go back in take out the ....... part of it and replaced it with a big happy face. See what you do to me? Stop making me civil!
