Hey everyone, curious if anyone knows where/how to get a knee puck appraised?  My wife and I go to Laguna Seca almost every year and in 2011 had the pleasure of meeting the rising star that was Marco Simoncelli.  Usually we get our previous years photos signed however with no lower class races at Laguna hadn't previously seen Marco.  We were hanging out in front of his garage on Saturday morning and we asked him for one of his knee pucks.  Marco told us to come back after qualifying.  So we did and he remembered us and struggled for about a minute ripping the puck off.  My wife got him to sign it.  We don't have a picture of him signing it however we have a picture taken about a minute after my hand stopped shaking enough that shows him in his leathers without the puck.

I would never sell this.  Really just want to add it onto our homeowners insurance, for the just in case...

Any help or info is truly appreciated.  Really have no idea on the value of this, obviously priceless to the wife and I.

I don't think you need appraisal.

Both yourself and your wife witnessed it yes?

Just put a sticker/label on the back and both sign it with the date ;)

I overlaid it to one of mine and even from a photo can see many resemblences,

Almost identical to one.

Good Idea about the home insurance BTW I hadn't thought of that.

Not so much for it them getting stolen but fire would destroy many of my happy memories.

Oh and cool story. He was such a good guy ;)

Why worry about insurance for something that is not replaceable? Suppose it gets destroyed in a fire, what are going to do? Buy a new one with the insurance money?

Just imagine how many gp's you could go to with the money you could be saving by not being over-insured.

Damn.

Time to get a new wife so you can start spending  that money on important things again. Like antiques. And musical tickets. And fancy brunches.
