Marco Melandri is selling his Ducati F18 WSBK, and it's running and sounding good!

From the sales listing:
  • Melandri had some modifications to help with his small stature and this bike has them all including the machined down clutch lever to allow it to be closer to the bar.
  • Full electronics package right down to telemetry on the steering damper!! Bike is complete and running unlike a lot of ex WSBK

Sure. What the hell. Throw in some turn signals and I’ll take it off his hands. I’m sure I have a few extra bucks between the couch cushions.

I think 2018 was the first year of the new rulebook, correct? That's the significant bit of information in this story. Prior to the rules requiring ALL parts and technologies, including all of the race modifications to be production, is what allows Melandri to sell a recent current-model race bike. No way you could do this with bikes from prior formulas, unless you switched out the engine or made a few other changes to protect the proprietary kit.

Interesting new world we are entering with Superbike. Hopefully, Melandri is not already hard up for money.
