Today best Honda (maybe I should say 'least worse Honda')

Dani Pedrosa 8th!!!

I don't remember the last time Honda got such a bad result!

Actually during FP they were doing OK, the new chassis HRC boys have seems to be a clear step forward.

But IMO the standard RCV bike is the worse bike on the grid.
 
I think the Factory kit is barely up to the speed of the others, but its so close at the top and Dani is still 3rd in the standings. The Ducati and Yamaha seem to be the best and roughly equal, the Kawasaki and Suzuki are both coming good and just need the last bit of pace. Honda however are the only factory having major problems.
 
i would'nt say the suzuki & kawasaki are equal.... just yet. i need proof. the zook has better riders. if the kwacker riders can start finishing in the top 5 regularly then i might agree.
 
The new chassis seems to be a major breakthrough, Hayden has hailed it and says there is much more feel in the front. If HRC can get more of those produced and handed down to the satellite team, it should help everyone on a Honda out.

As far as Hayden and Pedrosa's poor results, well Hayden's is obvious, but Pedrosa's surely is down to tires. Everyone on Michelins today complained. It appears there is light at the end of the tunnel for Honda after all.
 
Funny how Honda lead the charge for a change to 800cc. IMO their thinking was that by changing the rules just as the other manufacturers were beginning to close the gap in development that they would be able to maintain the advantage. This plan surely has back fired.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ducati must be the least funded factory effort on the grid? Kwakker, Suzuki, Honda and Yamaha all have practically limitless resources, I was always under the impression that Ducati were the least funded ones. If thats true, I'd be embarrassed to show my face if I were a Japanese company mechanic right now

I could not agree with Austin's post more. The unwritten story on Ducati's performance are the Bridgestone tires. The tires rule change in MotoGP (a limit on the total number of tires) prevents Michelin from tweaking their compounds at the last minute and driving the new tires down from the factory in france to the european race tracks in time for race day. Effectively they are now competing on the same level as Bridgestone and are losing ground.
 
i'm happy to see suzuki perform the way they have! i think its a gorgeous bike too. but to see a small firm like ducati be so dominant is good. it should make the japanese manufacturers pull their finbgers out which should make for a season to remember!
 
Ducati is the smallest manufacturer but they spend a much larger chunk of their budget in motoracing than the rest.
Also, they've have very close links with Magneti Marelli and Ferrari, which has made them number 1 in electronics and aerodynamics.

And they have Marlboro, who most probably is the sponsor that puts in more money.

So all in all, Ducati small manufacturer yes, under funded no way.

Absolutely Teo. I would be surprised if Suzuki and Kawasaki had a larger budget devoted to MotoGP than Ducati.
